Narnad (469), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Jul 1, 2009 Marketed under Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale name. Pours from the bottle a very effervescent, murky, orange color with a thick, bubbly white head. Aroma is a mix of sourness, coriander, yeast notes, hay/barnyard musty notes and some modest biscuit malt notes at the end. Flavor starts with a very herbal beginning, moves into a sour green apple, slightly sweet fruitiness with a strong musty, hay ending. Density is moderated, alcohol is somewhat noticeable and the end is pretty dry. Overall a pretty good funky brew. tokyogoat (258), San Diego, California, USA Jun 30, 2009 Poured a golden yellow and very bubbly.
Aroma of coriander, hay, and spices.
Taste is spicy, generic belgian spices, slight funk, slight hay. Mutualaid (124), Texas, USA Jun 19, 2009 Pours a hazy yellowish-orange with an abundant white, rocky head. Nice, nice brett funk on the nose that dominates the aroma. Biscuity malt flavor that shines through despite the aggressiveness of the brett character. Medium body and a lingering twang on the palate. Really a very well balanced sour/funky beer. Zinister (1151), Houston, Texas, USA Jun 14, 2009 Reinaert Flsmish Wild Ale: dirty brown pour with white head...great lacing. Aroma is musty herbs, caramel, and orange tartness. Flavor is sweeter than I expects, although nice. Raisins, herbs, and a touch of wood. Dry finish. grandet (421), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 9, 2009 Bottle from jessup plaza labeled reinaert flemish wild ale. golden yellow pour with sweeping bubbles comming from the bottom of the glass. Huge fluffy white head. aroma of funky, sour earthy, vinigar and some fruit. Taste is nice and funky with a dry finish. Some notes of fruit. Tastes alot like a saison. Very drinkable and refreshing. stefanje (826), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jun 5, 2009 750 ml bottle of Reinaert Flemish wild ale. Cloudy yellow pour with a medium white head. The aroma is distinct with Belgian yeasts, spices, and sweet fruits. The taste is very much like that of a strong saison style beer--it is spicy, lightly sour, funky and mildly fruity. The finish is long and spicy. The palate is full and malty smooth. Overall; A very enjoyable Belgian ale. Jerre (1610), Waregem, Belgium Jun 2, 2009 Bottle, 75 cl. (bought @ Willems)

Bitterness. GOOD. jumpjet2k (94), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 1, 2009 Reinaert 11.2oz bottle. This one exploded on me a bit. Very foamy, but it’s a nice medium copper with a lot of floaties and ends up with a big and attractive head. Smells like cheese at first, with some bread and cherries behind. Plenty sweet flavor, with lots of spicy notes, accompanied by good fruity depth. Apples, pear, butterscotch. Finishes dry to a lingering cool fruitiness in the back of the mouth. A little bit of sourness shows up throughout, as well.
Is this really 40 or 50 IBUs? If so, they’re definitely hidden, but that’s good for this style of beer - I don’t imagine they’d blend very well with the spicy notes. Overall, a complex and well-crafted beer - the sour, sweet, spicy, and malty flavors all blend together very nicely to keep me interested through the whole glass. I’ll definitely buy again.
