Pours a hazy dark orangish amber color. Aroma is lightly malty, hoppy, yeasty, with a touch of fruit. Flavor is a nice mixture of malts and fruits.

Bottled. Poured hazy deeper orange with a creamy, sticky cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up some fruity sweetness, but the related skin tartness was more dominant.. brown sugar and peppery yeast accented.. warm, with a little more tartness than I’d prefer. The flavor found biscuit and fruity malts at the core, with the aforementioned tart fruits and peppery yeast around.. the yeast was even spicier and picked up toasted banana as it warmed up.. warm residual fruit sugars and tartness on the finish.. this grew on me. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated.. spicy where it needed to be, and well-balanced.. I’d drink more of this.

Bottle from beersofeurope.com. Light brown pour with an off-white fluffy head. Lasts a fair while. Good carbonation. Aromas of strawberries, peaches, caramel, sweet spices, herbs. Liked the whiff of this one. Has an aged quality about it. Flavours of herbs, grass, coacoa, wood, slight sourness. Warming alcohol, massages the throat. Finishes dry and hoppy. Interesting.

Pours a dark amber color with a nice cream head. Aroma of roasted malts, fruity, caramels and spices. Flavors of roasted malts, dry dark fruits like raisins, some orange zest, a hint of liquorice and chocolate, a spices. Good carbonation, a little sweet and more bitter dry finish. Some complexity, very nice balance of flavors, a nice full flavored brew. Very pleasant.

Cloudy brown pour with a medium, offwhite head. Pleasant aroma of spices, fruits and yeast. Good flavor of spices, fruits and yeast. The body is light to medium with a slightly liquorous texture and soft carbonation. Good stuff.

33cl bottle cloudy brown, small fluffy light brown head. sweet caramel, tofee, faint dark fruits, alcohol in the aroma, perhaps also faint orange peel. flavor is sweet, hard caramel, only very faint dark fruits. flavor is actually very good, a clean caramelly profile, without being too sweet or cloying. some bitterness to balance, but not taking my attention away from the nice home-made-hard-caramel sort of flavor. the faind dark fruity raisiny flavor rounds up the beer nicely.

33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. BB 22/12/10.

App.: Clear copper with a fair tan head. Aroma: Lots of bright fruits, nice brown sugar and some light molasses, dark dried fruits, a little vinous, a little boozy, some light orange peel. Palate: Medium+ body, fairly soft effervescence. Flav.: Less than the nose, some dark dried fruits, more booze, a touch of wood and orange peel, some brown sugar/molasses; somewhat sweet with enough balancing bitterness and a light malty/boozy finish.

Fair.
