Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, BBE Dec 06). Caramel, belgian yeast and malt aromas. A metallic flavour which oddly enough sits quite well with all the elements. Very drinkable. Nice with a good balance of flavours but doesnt seem to have the flair to deserve any better praise.

Brown colour with off-white head. Fruity taste with bits of caramel. Tastes like dubbel. Why is it called Grand Cru?

Bart (2915) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 15, 2005
Dark red-brown beer, off white average head. Fresh and herby aroma hint of porto, heavy and yeasty. Full creamy taste, alcohol. Finish is light bitter, roasted with caramel, and sweet alcoholic. A real Grand Cru

Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 23, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with huge amount of floating impurities that never really settle. A reddish tint to it and a big, fluffy head. Rather full-bodied and very sweet, but apparently no sugars added - this is "volmout" - all malt. Strange but very pleasant. 310198

Storm (2685) - Amager, DENMARK - JUN 20, 2005
Incridible good lookig an tasting beer, and rocky head is taking place over the dark ruby allmost brown colour. Very good taste that balance the spices and the hops with the malty aftertaste.

A Mes rate: One of those strange ones where the aroma tells you very little about the flavour. I don’t know if it was the environment I was in but the nose wasn’t that great and was hardly there at all. All I can smell is slightly metalic with a touch of mint and spruce. Drak amber looks with a decent tan head that lasts reasonably well and leaves fairly heavy lacing. Flavour is brief and the alcohol is clearly there but for me this is all about the finish. Very little happens in the mouth and then when you swallow bam all the flavour comes through. Brief metalic hit then it’s all nuts and fruits. Palate is great too, feels lovely. Really rather good. Could say a lot about this.

jbrus (4992) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAY 15, 2005
Very straightforward beer, sweet and nothing happening. Raisin and rum aroma. Redish brown color, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, raisin, figues, very malty, cookie, caramel, sticky.

Tawney with big offwhite head. Notes of alcohol and sweetness in the aroma. Soft with bitter sweet aftertaste.

pivo (2540) - GERMANY - FEB 13, 2005
Ruddy brown color, tight fizzy head that is very attractive (as shown in the pix for this beer on RB). Sweet sugary front with some cherry-like flavors. Medium body. Fruity malt and too sweet for me. One sided.

Real nice mahagony color, small rocky medium diminishing head. Nice malt and yeast nose. Caramel, malt and dough nose. Fizzy. All in all medium lasting.
