Appena aperta si libera un intenso e persistente aroma dolce, molto fruttato e caramellato. Gusto dolce, caramellato, con retrogusto amaro molto ben bilanciato. La gradazione alcolica è mascherata bene. Finale dolce

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep red amber with a nice full head. The head dissipates to a thick film that stays throughout your drinking. Aroma is sweet - caramel and molasses. Some metallic in there as well. along with some spices. Flavour is slightly sour at first, then adds caramel. Feels very full as you drink it with lots of warming alcohol.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 Bottle from Utobeer - Deep amber with a dense off white head. Aromas of malt and dried fruit. Spicy taste, yeasty and sweet with notes of liqorice and brown sugar. Alcohol is apparent but not overpowering, giving it a full mouthfeel and warmth going down.
Not the greatest but enjoyed none the less...

[Bottle] Quite good strong dark belgian ale; the spicy, chocolate, smooth character reminding me of a Chimay Blue of the good old times...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2010 In short: A caramelized Belgian brown ale that is as fruity as it is nutty. Great brew
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed fresh a few months after receiving it through private importation.
The look: Cloudy brown body topped by a medium long-lasting beige head
In long: Nose of tropical fruits in toffee with some nuts. Taste is very fruity (pineapples, cherries, and more), very nutty and with toffee/caramel. Body is smooth and cushiony. Leafy hops to balance the whole thing out. The Reinaert label has a “renard” (fox) illustration on it so I assume it is brewed by a very bad french speller.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pouring this, I was struck by its sour, yeasty nose. Spicy to the tip of the tongue. Dense, off-white foam and dark hazelnut hues with a core of deep red decorate the glass. In keeping with the initial aroma impression, taste is rather sour, but in a pleasant way. Fairly typical Belgian notes of dried fruits. Feels light considering the alcohol and sits well in your system.
