1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bière brune très classique, goût de réglisse prononcé, sans intérêt particulier. Je ne recommande pas.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy dark amber, stable offwhite froth. Caramel and dried fruit aroma, rather light. Flavour is sweet with caramel, dried fruit, some spicy yeast and well balanced alcohol. Decent.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Coppery red pour with a one finger sudsy tan head that leaves nice lacing. Earthy and grassy hops, candi sugar, caramel, some dark fruits in the aroma. The taste is very grassy for the style, caramel, a bit of plum. Apart from the strong grassy hops, it tastes watery for a 9.5% ABV brew. Quite disappointing, I much preferred the Reinaert Tripel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 15/01/17
Hazy deep copper body, holds a dense cm of white head.
Somewhat subdued nose manages to exude richness - toffee/brown sugars, toast, biscuity malts, white pepper, minerals, light peary fruit esters, doughy yeast.
Lovely thick mouthfilling texture, creamy carbonation.
Opens out nicely on the body - tan toffee, biscuity malts, yeasty notes of clove, pepper, pale fruits. Lifted bitterness for style, warming, long easy finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle at home. Somewhat hazy amber brown with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Very sweet with some herbal bitterness. Caramel, malts, brown sugar, herbs and spices. Ok, but not too special.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Murky brown color. Medium size, brown head, stays. Caramel, plastic, faint alcohol, sweet, dark fruits in aroma. Not much of aroma. Caramel, liquid butter, fat, woody, fruity, hops in taste. Very complex taste. Like little bit of everything and then again nothing. I like it. Medium bitterness. Feels thin and some might even say watery, but with character. 9.5%? You must be kidding. No sign of alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ottima belga con un colore rosso-marrone ambrato e una schiuma pannosa, ha un cuore dolce anche se è ben equilibrato. Note di frutta e malto all’olfatto. Nonostante sia essenzialmente dolce, con sapore di caramello e malto, non eccede e anzi si avverte un finale un pelo amaro. E’ alcolica ma ha un corpo moderato e una discreta carbonazione.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 330 ml. Pours dark reddish brown and cloudy as hell. Minimal off-white head. Aroma strongly reminiscent of caramel sponge pudding, with a lot of fruity notes (orange, apricot, grapefruit, lemon, later some darker stuff like blackcurrent and blueberry) going on as well. Very sweet though not unpleasantly so, with a fair bit of alcohol detectable too (though not unexpected giving the 9.5% ABV). As a big fan of caramel sponge pudding i’m exited! Taste is perhaps less overtly sweet with a malty bitterness hitting immediately, alongside hoppier notes of pineapple and citrus. Sweetness in the taste mostly takes the form of subdued honey and fruit, like the aforementioned pineapple as well as orange, and is never overpowering. Finish is long and bitter, of an unexpectedly hoppy variety. Was definitely expecting a maltier taste overall though this is by no means much of an issue. Palate and mouthfeel are decent with some carb and a generally smooth texture, though body could be a bit fuller. Surprisingly refreshing and easy drinking given the high ABV and rich, sweet aroma, while never showing much compromise in the taste department. Recommended to fans of both hearty belgians and refreshing fruity IPAs!

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Arôme fruité. Goût un peu trop faible. Le goût de malt se fait légèrement plus prononcé en arrière goût. On ne sent pas l’alcool. Facile à boire donc bien traître.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Medium hazy copper body, medium head. Aroma has sourish caramel with some strawberries and amaretto. Also very light notes of toffee. Nice and unique. Caramelly taste with more light toffee, amaretto and berries. Sweetish finish but not too sweet - not as cloying as many other 9.5% beers. Pretty good ale, has a distinctive character.
