The noble Pils, with certificate of origin, is unique in Europe. Reininghaus Jahrgangspils is brewed from nothing other than hops from Leutschach in southern Styria; and only from one year's harvest. To underline the uniqueness of each individual harvest of hops, the recipe is never changed. And so, the Pils tastes different every year.

Bottle from Ammersin 5 Vienna, 2012 edition. Crystal clear, golden body, with medium, creamy, white head, that leaves a good lacing. Aroma of grains, flowers, biscuit, bread, some herbs. Taste with about the same aromas, also with some citrus, clean and fresh. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a lively carbonation and it finishes medium bitter, with grass and herbs. Nice, hoppy, refreshing Pils, one of the very best from Austria.

3rd Wiener Bierfest, Vienna, Austria. Sampled by Kis Salétrom and Szebeni Ászok. SZÁ: Frisseség, érződik benne a természet, a tiszta víz kisejlik belőle. Sparkling one. KS: Laza pils a maga vagányságával. Nem akar több lenni annál, ami. Szépen beáll a sorba, a többi pils közé.

This a backlog rate from 19.06.2011. Hopfenjahrgang 2010, by the label on the bottle, consumed on the rooftop terrace at K&Ö. Gasless light golden body, clear with a lacing, pearly white head. Nose is sunny citrus with mealy cereal grains, sort of mashy/worty. Taste is light-medium bitter, dry with a little grain. Fresh, green hops with a little chalk/dust, presumably from the water. Medium-full body. Good enough.

0.33 l bottle my friend Matea brought from Salzburg or Vienna, great thanks! It poured very pale golden body with medium sized head. Grainy and dusty aroma, with some lemon and herbal hops. Flavor was surprisingly good, nicely herbal hopped, with perfectly complemented biscuit malt. Rather weak and thin in body, but it’s pleasant, with nice bitterish herbal, pine, even orange aftertaste. Surprisingly good pilsener.
