Bottle. A clear, straw-colored beer topped by a small, white to off-white head. Rather fruity on the nose, leaving the pale malts in the background. Quite grassy too, with some peppery hop notes way behind the other aromas. Fruity, straw flavor with a good addition of pale malts. Some slightly peppery hops gives a weak but appropriate bitterness, cleaning the palate nicely. Crisp, quenching and mediuim-bodied. A bit sweet finish maybe, where the bitterness are left too much in the back. Kölsch is a hard style to brew, and even though this is not the best of the locals, it’s a pretty good and quenching one. 091008

16.9oz bottle. Pours a clear pure golden body with a medium sized white head. Weak aroma of grass, straw with some faint citrus. Medium bodied, crisp, creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is mainly malty with a grainy grass finish. Not much going on here, which is what I expected. Overall an easy drinking relatively tasty beer.

12oz bottle 10/1/09 (Sam’s Wine & Spirits)-Pours a clear golden with a small white head and an aroma of malt, grains, and hops. Taste of the same with a bit more grass and hops. This light bodied beer is very well balanced and quite tasty.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2009 Bottled 50cl. Clear pale golden. Very strong on the apple and gooseberry component. Hints of naphtalin and soy sauce. Waxy. Slightly reminiscent of a Berliner Weisse. An interesting and distinct Kölsch.

Golden pour with small white head that stayed throughout. Malty aroma and cereal like flavor with some hops in the finish. Not as high in quality as price would show.
