3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Crafty07 (404) - Florence, Kentucky, USA - MAY 24, 2008
One of the most perfect summertime beers, I’ve been able to introduce my beer-novice friends the joy that is a refreshing Kolsch as they are now selling these in wonderful 5L mini-kegs.
I’m so glad to have this available.
I dont’ detect the mint, vanilla, or ’cedery finish’ that MJ did...but it’s still a great warm weather beer.

On tap at the Map Room. Pours clear gold with white head. Sweet malty nose with a touch of hops. Very nice and light with subtle flavors of malt and some hops. Could be a nice sessions beer.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 CROchamp (10) - USA - MAY 17, 2008
Excellent stuff, and probably the most refreshing Koelsch there is! Good news - although definitely not the most easy to find, it is available also as the bottled version. The flip side is the US price, which is usually at least 3$ (tends to be 5$ though!). Get it in the Summer, refrigerate properly, and open while watching your favorite game. Prepare 5 bottles per person.

By far my favorite and in my opinion one of the best examples of the style on the market. Refreshing, with a slightly buttery biscuit maltiness, simple graininess, a light bit of floral hops. Very drinkable.
