3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ElDesmadre (383) - Mikołów, POLAND - AUG 26, 2011
Bottle. Light golden with quite a frothy and durable head for a koelsch. Aroma is soft grainy malt with a touch of bubblegum fruitiness. Taste is malty-fruity, with not too much hops in the aroma but a light to moderate bitterness. This beer is very refreshing, soft on the palate, and not watery. Great koelsch!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 adam42381 (331) - Fort Myers, Florida, USA - AUG 24, 2011
Review from notes taken on 8/22/11. On tap at World of Beer Fort Myers. Poured into a stange.
Pours a clear medium gold color with a 2 finger fluffy snow white head. Nice head retention and lacing.
Smell: Grassy and floral aroma. Not a ton going on here, but it smells nice.
Taste: Sweet malt and grass with a touch of what I can only describe as the icy coating on a popsicle up front followed by a mild fruitiness in the middle before ending with bitterness from herbal hops at the finish. Aftertaste is fairly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium-bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Goes down smooth.
Drinkability: High drinkability. You could knock back several of these without any problem.
Overall: Good beer overall. This is my first Kolsch, and it makes me want to try some more. I’d recommend giving this one a try.

If you like this, and live in Wisconsin, USA, try
Wavehopper fom Big Bay Brewing, almost a match. Plus you don’t have to worry about it being fresh, because it doesn’t have to travel accross the pond.

Pours a golden pale yellow with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma and Taste of caramel malt, yeast, some sweet fruity esters and a light grassy note, with some light hops. Light body and carbonation on the palate. Finish is sweet malt, some biscuit and yeast, and light hops on the ending give it nice balance. Overall a good easy drinking and refreshing brew.
