Bottle. Golden beer with a frothy light head. Lightly carbonated. Pilsener like hop aroma. Zesty refreshing beer. Lasting light hop finish. Very nice malty body. A delicate drinkable lager.

Kölsch isn’t a style that has all that many admirers, but this one is acceptable and perhaps more trustworthy to the style being that it’s brewed in Köln. Pale golden color with constant tiny bubble carbonation. Sweet, slightly cloying malt aroma with an ester element that resembles walnut. Flavor is similar to a pale lager but much more refined, with a delicate, grainy balance of hops and malt that leaves a clean finish still with a touch of pale lager grittiness. Would be great for summer tasks if one is willing to splurge at $3.49 for a 500 ml bottle.

The Lure:
Grassy hop blades lie within the milky haystack. Simple and attractive.

The Festivities:
Dry hay resists to the watery passages and remains until the finale. Hops are subtle yet tickle efficiently. Eminently quaffable.

Transcendence:
Liters of amusement flowing along with the laughs.

Herbal spicy hops and chewy cereal malts in the nose. Clear golden blonde with shy large-bubbled white head that recedes to partial cover and ring. Cereal malts and herbal, spicy, flowery hops that balance nicely. Some notes of vanilla. Light, refreshing body with gently effervescent carbonation. A very good summer beer. Bottle (Julio’s Liquors - Mar. 2005) enjoyed with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie.

Pours gold with aromas of grainy malt and some hoppy esters. Tastes of hopcit, some grassy esters. Medium palate. Smooth finish.

Pours a clear pale gold color with a ring of white lace. Earthy and grainy aroma. Flavor of malt, citrus and something that feels like dirt, maybe some earthy yeast. Light body, creamy texture. Decent kolsch.

Blonde dorée translucide très pale, presque exempte de mousse. Arômes frais et fruités, légèrement persillés. Une bonne dose de grain vient harmonieusement se mêler aux herbes fraîches pendant qu’une honnête suggestion de céleri bouilli et de jus de pomme s’intensifie. Niveau de carbonatation assez élevé amenant un côté vivant et presque piquant sur la langue. Échantillon datant légèrement, finale un brin oxydée ? Fidèle au style !

Very clear (see fingerprints through) pale golden, short-lasting white head. Close to skunky aroma upon opening, but this clears out a leave the way to fresh cut grass and rather fresh hops and hay aromas. All light, all honest pils malt displayed under a quaffable, clean and resh bitterness. Very light bodied, crisp and slightly ricey. Okay stuff, but I’d quickly pass to the next.
