I’m a slowly becoming a fan of Kolschs, surpirising, I know. This one isn’t the best, but damn me if it’s not good.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is malty and caramelish with notes of hay and light hops. Pleasant malty flavour with some citric notes along with some hay. Nice and flavourful Kölsch.

33 cL bottle courtesy of Rob, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear golden with a small white head and champagne carbonation. The head fades to a thin remnant and leaves no lace. The aroma has pale malts, noble hops, and grain. The flavour is dry up front, crisp and refreshing. It is balanced with mild hops. The finish is moderate in length, malty and sweet. On the palate, it is light in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent pale brew, though not an excellent example of the style. 2011-04-23

Bottle 50 cl from Rewe in Köln. Poured clear golden in colour with foamy small white head. Grainy and and somewhat nutty aroma. Hay and malts in flavour. Nice quite smooth and soft finish.

not a style that would garner high ratings due to the lightness and lack of bold flavors, so i tried to rate this based on the style characteristics, not personal taste. Very crisp with a little skunkiness, very light and reminiscent of a pale lager except for the late hop bitterness and light malt sweetness. Good choice for those people who would normally enjoy a macro pale lager but are willing to try an import.

Pours yellow with a white head. Aroma is malt, dms, fruity notes and grassy hop. Flavour follows the nose.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clear, yellow pour with a white head. It has a lightly fruity aroma with some faint wheat. The light body is crisp with lively carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with some apple taste and a clean finish.

Pour golden yellow with decent with head. Aroma grain, grass, cereal. Taste sweet, malty, grassy, biscuity decently bitter. Decent carb easy to drink lightness. Overall meh nothing special here.
