This brew poured a large head of fine to large sized white mostly lasting bubbles that left behind afair lacing and a softly carbonated transparent yellow orange colored body. It had a mild malt hop aroma and a thin crisp bubbly mouthfeel. The flavor was a nice smooth mild malt hop mix. There was nothing remarkable about this brew, just all around OK.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2003 Full malty nose with hints of tart fruitiness. Clear golden straw color with large rocky white head. Flavor is malty throughout with apple-like tartness appearing near end of swallow. Very refreshing. The malty aspect gave great satisfaction for a mostly uncomplicated beer. Lite hop bite near middle round out this excellent Kolsch. BBQ anyone?

Maybe my palette isn't developed enough to enjoy this, I don't know. It was like drinking Stroh's out of a can, more or less. The taste didn't linger, though.

Before the Jager laid waste to my palate, I continued my Steinkeller tapping with this decent kolsch. Light and fruity, straw-colored, and refreshing. I agree that there was a hint of metal in the flavor. Decent enough.

There's a bit of a cooked corn smell to it, but not too bad. The color is a very pale straw, lots of carbonation and a head that thins quick. This has a nice fresh clean taste, hops are pretty low, but there is still that hint of corn. A refreshing beer on a hot day, like today, but I was expecting something more. A fine example of the style, which is sometimes scarce in this area, so take a grain 'o salt with that.

Golden colour, small bubbles rise from the bottom for the length of the beer. Strawy flavour, slight metallic ting. Bittering aftertaste, but definately not a bad beer. I had this one out of the same bottle with DougShoemaker given to us by Lyle Ostrow at Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York.

Thin head but good carbonation. Aroma of peanut butter initially then malt and mellow hops. Color is a medium gold. Flavor is primarily malts and very smooth and clean. Finish is slightly bitter and balanced nicely. A good, well rounded beer that will appeal to a large number of people.

Had this on tap at the Half Door in Hartford, CT. Pours foamy and golden. Very light and well carbonated, with a super clean balanced taste. A really wonderful light bodied style.

I haven't had many beers of this style, but I have to say that this beer is well worth trying and would be a nice compliment to most foods.
