A bit hoppy thin and acidic for my taste. good floral notes on aroma. Mildy murky golden liquid. Clean light and happy mouthfeel. Just not my style of beer, I guess.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2003 Very smooth and nice example of the classic Kolsch, will be great on a summer picnic. Decent subtle maltiness and nice light carbonation.
Good drinking .

Smooth and soft mouthfeel. Somewhat fruity malt but overall not very flavorful. Perfectly smooth however with a nice hop taste. A very good kolsch.

this one is in michael (the sane one) jackson's book " great beer guide, 500 classic brews", a beautiful book which is sort of the beer lover's equivalent to soft porn: page after page of fabulous photos of gorgeous things in titillating "do me" poses that suggest great pleasures that we are not having, and that most often we cannot have, owing to thier obscurity and scarcity. and yet, strangely, it's possible to derive all sorts of enjoyment from them still-- in visual and vicarious molestation. once in a while, however, unlike playboy models, we do get a chance to find, acquire and "do" the beer, and of these i keep track: of MJ's 500, i've had about 70. to further abuse the playboy analogy, it's quite possible that perhaps the real thing doesn't always measure up to the aggrandizement of the photos, and such is the case with reissdorf, a classic "urquell" of the kolsch clan. like the first piece of wire bent into a perfect paperclip, it may be quite an innovation i suppose, but still very dull. it's plain yellow like any other lager, and the head fizzed audibly. that was kiiiiiinda cool. yawn. for a minute. then, no head whatsoever, and the aroma stepped up to do it's thing, which was a light dandelion smell, plus sawdust, and pink pencil eraser. a smooth palate, and flavor like a somewhat sweetened grain tea and plain bagel. a nudge of hops tried feebly to push the malt over in the general direction of a lemony bitterness, but never really got far. a modest refreshment. even "our" michael seems a bit nuts sometimes.

Pale golden yellow hue. Clean white head. Light nose of mint, herbal hops. Sweet first, light bodied, fruity apple like, vanilla, light dry woodiness. Finishes clean and dry. A very pleasant brew.

pours a clear medium golden with light to mild carbonation and no head to speak of. aroma is grainy (corn) with slight sweetness. flavor is also grainy and slightly nutty. this beer doesnt leave much of an impression on me...just has a clean taste..lack of complexity would probably make this beer the perfect summer thirst quencher.

Sweet aroma, hint of apple and corn. Golden, pours a champagne like white head, quite a stream of bubbles. Fine malt flavour, excellent bitterness. As smooth and easy to drink beer as I’ve found. My first Kolsch, a Wonderful Treat! Thanks Radek.

Light, thin, on the pale side in color. The flavor was crisp and clean. Definite hop aroma. Pretty refreshing.

Straw coloured with tall, thin, quickly dissipating white head. Mild fruity aroma. Crisp flavour, but slightly mettalic. A good Kolsch, but not my favourite.

Quite sweet and light. A nice brew. Pretty close to an ordinary lager.
