Pours a light straw color with a two finger sticky foam. Nice bready aromas with a touch of fruity yeast peaking through. On the palate its clean and refreshing with nice light round maltiness adding some depth to the body and great mouthfeel. A great session beer with all the attributes a beer of this style should have. Yum.

Oops, forgot for a moment what a Kolsch was and bought this to refresh my memory... of a beer style that I now recall I don’t particularly like. Oh, well. I guess this is a reasonable example of the style, pale and fizzy, tasting of hay and grain, mild and light and inoffensive. I wouldn’t walk across the street to drink it, however.

Light but lacking crispness. Would have upside on a hot summer day. A decent break from the current hops-dominated world.

Think fizzy head, little to no lacing and strong gold color. Citrus, hop notes. Flavor bold upfront but shallow. Very little malt or bittness. Kind of mild alchol taste on the front end. Not bad, not great. Wouldn’t buy again with more complex alternatives.

Leichtes Fruchtaroma, Esternoten, etwas Sellerie. Im Aroma ganz leichte Frucht.

Served in a Kolsch glass. It has a nice, thick head that sticks around for a while. Very clear and clean with a good amount of carbonation. A grassy flavor is the main feature of this beer.

Draft at Pilsener Haus, 6/24/15
I was pretty surprised I’d never rated this one. One of those slipped through the cracks standards you find every now and again when rating. Light, solid aroma of fruit, a little sweet/pale malt, and some light hops. Light gold colored beer with a white head. Tastes leans sweet, but not cloying. Light and easy drinking with an average-to-lively carbonation. Maybe a hint thin. Decent enough, but nothing too exciting. Low ABV enough to drink a liter or 3...
