Has that Miller Lite look and smell of death to it. Also has that Miller Lite taste to it at about 4x’s the cost. Yea, not a fan.

Maybe my palette isn't developed enough to enjoy this, I don't know. It was like drinking Stroh's out of a can, more or less. The taste didn't linger, though.

Draught at Gasthaus Bruno, Cologne, 300ml, Filtered. Pale yellow gold with lasting head. Sweeter, malty, perfumed Kolsch, quite thin and flavourless. Proably not as fresh as those being served in the big brewhouses.

(Bottled, BBE 09/2005@Delirium Cafe, Brussels) Clear golden with a small head. Very mild aroma with mushroom hints and some acid sourness. Some sourish maltiness in the dryish flavor. Light to medium-bodied palate with quite low carbonation. A quite plain brew with little difference from typical acidic lagers.

25 Nov 05 - Light sweet with some burnt malt. Clear yellow amber colour, plain head and suds lacing. Light sweet fruit tatste and low hop complexity. Thin mouthfeel with a hoppy finish. I guess I am not a fan of Kolschs, this beer leaves me a little uninspired.

5ooml bottle. Pale yellow with no head. Hoppy aroma. First sip and I’m thinking "not another damn pilsener..’ Tasted like a budweiser that hadn’t been watered down. Second half of the bottle was better. The malts peeked through and the hops settled down. Decent beer but I wouldnt buy it again.

Bottle. Frothy white fair fully deminishing head. Ugly yellow colour. Moderate hoppy very grassy aroma, no hefe. Light bitter flavor, average finish. Creamy palate.

My second try at attempting to appreciate the style. Another valiant, but unrewarding, attempt. I just don’t find myself digging Kölsch beers. No offense to the fine people of Köln. They tend to be a little thin and too perfumy in aroma (the beer, not the people). The taste is somewhat floral with a drying bitterness on the sides of the tongue. They are, however, easy-drinking and refreshing beers (now I feel better for saying something positive).

Watery, light in Saaz hops, not very good, uninspired. Can find a lot better pretty easily.

Brooklyn Public House tap ($6): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is of grass, German hops, and some malts. The problem with this beer is that it is not good. I am very surprised it got this high of a rating considering that it has pretty strong off-notes. The finish of the beer is actually a bit bad. Sure there are hops and malts in this beer and sure, this has more taste than a macro, but if asked whether I would want to drink it again, I would say, "no."
