There's a bit of a cooked corn smell to it, but not too bad. The color is a very pale straw, lots of carbonation and a head that thins quick. This has a nice fresh clean taste, hops are pretty low, but there is still that hint of corn. A refreshing beer on a hot day, like today, but I was expecting something more. A fine example of the style, which is sometimes scarce in this area, so take a grain 'o salt with that.

I was pretty surprised I’d never rated this one. One of those slipped through the cracks standards you find every now and again when rating. Light, solid aroma of fruit, a little sweet/pale malt, and some light hops. Light gold colored beer with a white head. Tastes leans sweet, but not cloying. Light and easy drinking with an average-to-lively carbonation. Maybe a hint thin. Decent enough, but nothing too exciting. Low ABV enough to drink a liter or 3...

Dorada clara, brillante. Dos dedos de espuma. Aroma plano. Refrescante con carbonatación media. Muy bebible. Sabor malteado ligeramente cítrico. Equilibrada entre amargor y dulzor, ambos contenidos en cualquier caso.

Bottle from a corner shop in Cologne. Pours clear straw with a big creamy white head, high carbonated. Sweet soft malty aroma, floral hops. Taste is moderate sweet with a strange metallic note not the best from Cologne. .

Draft at Khyber Pass. Clear gold pour with a solid fizzy/foamy white head that mostly disappears. Toasted corn nuts. Expected milled yeasty/bready notes. Feels slightly more substantial than your standard Kolsch. Just enough astringency in the finish to keep you coming back.

Notes from BJCP tasting session, 2-4oz sample from 12oz bottle

Aroma: light malt with grainy sweetness, slight fruitiness - maybe apples, pears, or honey, floral hops, clean and fresh

Appearance: pale gold color with brilliant clarity, white head, not persistent

Taste: Grainy sweet almost corny, subtle spicy hops, near fruitiness or honey, very clean, low bitterness

Palate: medium body, average carbonation, smooth and crisp

Overall: A very clean kolsch. Well done with a slight fruitiness or honey taste. Aroma was very pleasant, slightly lower on bitterness than I expected, but overall a solid Kolsch.
