Great beer! Closer to Dobbelbock style than Belgian. Sweet nutty and caramely malts. Has some hops, but not really apparent. Sweetish, with lowish carbonation. I think its underrated beer. But my palate leans more towards malty, balanced beers. And this indeed has a great balance. Wine lovers beer?

muddy appearance. Aroma is faint, some sweetness. taste has medium sweetnes, plums and a hint of licorice. lots of flavour but somehow it all seems unbalanced and the a 6.7% feels sligtly watery. this beer should be good but for some reason it’s just "ok".

Mild roasted aroma. Funky, almost metallic taste (?). Or maybe it’s roasted rye or ryeish. Sweet. Alright. A hint of smoke.

Bottle as a gift from Espoo. BB 09.2015. Dark coppery colour with a hue of ruby, seems clear. Head is tan, not very big, with nice retention and very little lacing. Nose is sweet of burnt caramel, even strightforward sugary, with indistinct spices and a bit of alcohol coming through, plus faint notes of vanilla and banana. Taste is like plums, nuts and perhaps figs soaked in caramel, with a drop of alcohol. Little bitterness in the finish, and as it’s warmed quite a bit, more alcohol. Dubbel-like. Soft on the palate, light bodied and kind of watery, carbonation near flat. Overall? Not very convincing, not very pleasing.
