COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Craftsman is our Chocolate oatmeal stout. To brew it we add a proportion of organic oatmeal to the mash for a velvety smooth mouthfeel. and plenty of dark roasted coca nibs to the mash, boil and fermentor. The result is a rich, intense stout with notes of dark chocolate that gradually gives way to a subtle hop finish. With malt, coffee and chocolate flavours, Craftsman pairs well with any dessert, or match it with hearty fare such as venison and beef

Bouteille 500 ml. 4.9%. Couleurbrune très foncé, noire, mousse brune. Arôme sucrée de chocolat et un peu de café. En bouche, chocolat au lait, café noir, malt torréfié. Finale avec du chocolat et un peu de houblon...juste assez. Excellent stout.

500ml bottle – pours a pitch black ale in the glass with a smallish tan cap. Modest carbonation. Aroma is really understated for this style – you get some roast ant burnt cocoa a bit of maltiness and not much more. Flavor starts off as a contemporary Choco-stout but mid palate and through the finish there is an astringence and sourness that should not be there on this style (no I didn’t get a bad bottle because the other 3 were the same). All in all this is not a bad brew per se but the sourness is a hold back in enjoying the drink. Won’t be back to buy another of this one as long as Young’s is on th shelves.

Absolutely delicious. Smooth mouthfeel although vaguely thin - with the flavour almost wish was more thick and creamy. Delicious nose and amazing chocolate and oatmeal flavours. Silky and smooth. Easy-drinking. Nothing harsh. Excellent balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle lcbo, pours a black dark, no light getting through this stuff. lively carbonation settles quickly little head. Roasty aroma, coffee, chocolate some vanilla hints. Very light bitter taste, very smooth with slight bitter finish. A different beer, not bad overal, nothing to pair it with though.

Smells like vanilla, cacao and a little coffee. The taste of oatmeal isn’t that strong. Some nutty bitterness, and it pours dark with some initial mocha head that lasts 10 or 15 minutes. Not much lacing. Not bad. 500 ml bottle from LCBO.

500ml bottle. Clear reddish-brown body, very small mocha head. Delicate aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, oak barrel, burned caramel. Taste is a little bolder: wood charcoal, burned coffee, velvety chocolate, dried herbs. A nice bitter roasted malt aftertaste.

Weird beer. Loud agressive pissed off his on open, lots of smoke and then it bubbled allover the bottle a little. Poured slowly into glass then hear gulmp and it rushed out a bit and all this brown bubly soapy cola head goves over top and a little falls down glass. Looks weird let it settle to see beer, some red to light but dark ovcer all cant see throw it. Smells of chocolate, otmeal and roastness mabye even vanilla a little. Taste I like stouts and was dissapointed. Chocolate n oatmel yes, mabye some vanilla at times but also some sourish cola, grossness something weird about it and like some waterness a little mabye. Notas good as it sounds, taste a bit gross.odd and acts so weird apon opening/pour. Disapointed as it should be way better and Im a stout fan.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. Black pour, large light brown fizzy/creamy lasting head. Aroma is dark chocolate and burnt treacle, sort of herbal, not overly sweet at all, not much alcohol. Taste is chocolate and soft dry herbal bitterness - smooth, balanced, slightly charred. Light airy mouthfeel, quickish dark chocolate malt minerally finish, light emerging bitterness - fantastic stuff, if a bit light.

Calm body little head. beautiful choc and roast nose. Taste is choc and roasty coffee finish. Thin palate could be creamier. Very nice would buy again instantly.
