Craftsman is our Chocolate oatmeal stout. To brew it we add a proportion of organic oatmeal to the mash for a velvety smooth mouthfeel. and plenty of dark roasted coca nibs to the mash, boil and fermentor. The result is a rich, intense stout with notes of dark chocolate that gradually gives way to a subtle hop finish. With malt, coffee and chocolate flavours, Craftsman pairs well with any dessert, or match it with hearty fare such as venison and beef

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours very dark brown with a foamy 3 finger frothy light tan head. Nice aroma of dark milk chocolate with a hop hit. Med body - less as froth goes. Not the best impression there. The flavor is now bitter chocolate - there seems to be a lot of hop in here. Touch of coffee. Iím not sure this works all that well. Lots of flavor - but harsh - and hoppy chocolate? It is growing on me. Seeing it finishing dry, bitter and chocolate. Ok. Iím convinced.

Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown color with a medium light brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted sweet chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Sweet drinkable brew.

Big chocolate and roast aroma. This is a dry stout, with cocoa, and fine for a porter. Slightly above average mouthfeel, though dry finish. Dark chocolate looks with lots of lace. Drinkable, likely better with dessert.

Sample at the 5th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/26/2013: Dark brown pour with a medium tan head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Light body with flavors of sweet chocolate, soy sauce and malt. The finish is sweet with a short chocolate malt aftertaste. Pretty average overall.

500mL thanks to argo0. Pours a hazy brune. Over carbonated coffee foam. Okay retention. Nose is thicker dairy, milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla, hazelnut. Taste is lighter, sharp carbonation, lemon tea, bitter coffee. Thin with a thickish chocolate finish. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep brown-black pour with a huge rocky brown head. The nose has a touch of light astringency and some roasted malt character. Dark chocolate and some coffee with a touch of light vanilla. Itís got a heavy roasted character and a little bit of soft sourness. It doesnít taste quite infected, but there is a touch of something sharp in here. Heavy roast and a fairly astringent maltiness. Thin bodied and quite astringent - really canít say Iím a huge fan of this. Itís got some potential, but thereís something not quite right about it.

Draught at Beer DeLuxe, Melbourne, on July 30, 2013.
Iím guessing it was the 2012, it stated 4.9% ABV anyhow.
$10 for a small pour, not cheap.
Black color with hints of dark brown, brown head. Cocoa, chocolate, smooth, a bit sweet taste. Chocolate, cocoa aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium dry bitterness. Dark chocolate scent.
