Bottle. Deep amber gold with a foamy off-white head that retains beautifully and decorates the glass with delicate lace. Very fragrant hop aroma of tropical fruit and citrus zest. Flavours of sweet honey-kissed malt and passionfruit, grapefruit, and resin. Finish is crisp and bitter and of medium length. Perfectly balanced, with a medium body in spite of the big flavours-- dangerously quaffable. Fantastic!

Draught at Creek Pizzeria (opposite the Brewery), Blenheim. Pours golden with a small white head. Malt, fruit and pine dominate the nose. The flavour is malt and heaps of fruit. Medium bodied. Dry and bitter finish. Great beer.

Pours a hazy deep gold with a white head. Malty aromas strong with some citrus, probably grapefruit, and a hint of yeast. The flavour is very bitter with peppery hop and roasted malt, which moves through to a watery grapefruit and lemon character. Clean on the palate, with a pepper and burnt malt aftertaste.

Pours cloudy orange, off white diminishing head. Aroma is prominent, zesty grapefruit hops jump out of the glass at you. Very nice APA aroma. Malty background. Bitter grapefruit is upfront in the flavour, followed by smooth malt. Low carbonation. Dry fruity finish. Very nice APA, but could do with some more carbonation.

500ml b/b 19/12/09 Ofter drunk and just noticed never rated. Probably doesn’t look that attractive when poured - a fairly murky almost dirty gold, Rich head that lingers for a while. Moderate aromas, pine & tropical fruits but a slight cooked vege waft mixed in too. Wonderful full richness in the mouth - a soupy hop richness, full and balanced. Amazing body for a 4.5% beer. Nice job

The 500mL bottle explodes with sweet, hoppy aroma as soon as the cap pops off. Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head and playful carbonation. Initial aromas of Hops, grapefruit, peach and apricot with herbs and floral notes. Some straw-like malt. The flavours begin with grassy hops, while citrus fruits and coriander dance in the background. The finishing taste sneaks up and bites you with a bitter zest with straw malt. Very crisp on the palate. Great!

Passionfruit, pine and citurs aroma. Big fluffy white head. Intial malt sweetness with big lemon and grapefruit flavours, then a firm bitterness and lingering lemon and pine resin taste. Lots of hops, but I’d prefer more malt to balance them, and the finish is a little harsh.

Poured golden yellow with a loosely packed white collar of foam. Aromas are more in the floral spectrum with some citrus coming into play. Palate is more of the same, not quite as much tropical fruit as i’d expected. Caramel malt and dry hop presence give a feint resiny bitterness, while palate is relatively light. Pleasant, but not overly impressed.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2008 500mL Bottle. Strong and very pleasant passionfruit aroma. Pours a amber beer thats slighty cloudy - Small white head. Tastes of passionfruit and slight citrus dominate this beer also with caramel malt notes. Ends with quite a bitter finish on the roof of your mouth. I have to agree with others that its a little thin mid swallow. Flavours are very seperated from each other unlike something like Epic Pale Ale - perhaps something is missing for this to be a GREAT beer.
