2013-08-21. Crisp orange body small foamy off white head fades. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, mild mineral touches and mild citrus notes. Flavour is pleasant with a mild bitterness throughout, mild hoppy citrus. Touches of lemon throughout. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation despite foaming up at first. Not as assertively hoppy as I would like, but surprisingly tasty and very quaffable. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

Grapefruit and summer fruits with delicate whisp of malt to the nose. Clear orange-amber body with thick frothy beige head and lasting retention. Malt flavour is somewhat weak but slight bittersweetness from the hops make up for it. Finish is a little bland and aftertaste is short. Even, if not a little uninspiring palate. definitely quaffable but ordinary pale ale.

Pours nice gold with a thin fizzy cap. Aroma is malty, toffee and biscuits, with a very light hint hoppy of tropical fruit. The flavour mainly just biscuits to start, and tropical fruits and citrus to finish, the middle feels empty. . . .It’s alright, drinkable no doubt, but I don’t see the point.

Pours hazy dark golden with a small white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is earthyhops and bready malts. Taste is again earthy hop bitterness with bready malts, very subdued.

very earthy hops, hay, and cereals. medium bitterness, some light roasted nuts. underwhelming, a tad boring. very earthy hops, expected more of a citrus notes, just got some slight pine, and alot of earthy malts.

Smells like honey, slight fruity hops and caramel. Not super fresh but aroma subdued all the same. Slightly hazy yellow/copper color. Mainly carmel upfront, some resiny hoppiness in the middle and a caramel finish. Very watery and minimal carbonation. Not too impressed with this one.

Bottle from Plonk. Slightly hazy copper/gold, not much head to speak of, nor much aroma, caramel, citrus/grass, seemed a bit lifeless. I’m wondering, like other recent raters, whether there was a dodgy batch (mine was 285 batch best before Nov 13 on the label on the base). Quite ok, but expected more.

Single at the LCBO with a neck label written, Silver Australian International Beer Awards 2010. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a bubbly head that disappears quickly, but has a little lacing, here and there. The nose seems off-balanced, with some light hops at first which are good, but then, this big cereal puff comes up, and seems all over. A mix of caramel malts with dark fruits and other aromas that don’t blend very well. The taste is pretty much the same. Maybe a got a bad bottle, but I am not a fan of this one.

A malt heavy pale ale along the English style more than American. Finishes malty sour. Not a great deal going on here. Bottle.

Bottle from the LCBO. Copper-amber colour with a thin cap of slightly off-white head. Somewhat muted but appealing aroma of caramel malt and citrus-inflected hops. Medium bodied with good level of carbonation. Flavour is a bit more robust than the aroma suggests, with the same caramel malt/citrus hops balance. Tasty and quite sessionable, but I suspect that the hops would pop more if the bottle was fresher.
