Draft. Sparkling amber body with a short head. Medium body, lightly sweet, moderately bitter across the middle seems to become starchy / popcorn like / husky in the back. Light yeast powder residue left in the finish. Acidic hop oils prick the tongue, itís lively and all but overly bitter for itís sweetness, leaving the mouth parched, and a unpleasant pine resin astringency lingers in the finish. Hops have some nice juiciness (lemon balm and orange pulp and such), but itís overrun by the strong bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 Surprisingly restrained for an "American" brew. The low alcohol content is probably its best feature as it allows one to partake to a degree that would leave you leg less with some of their other/stronger beers.

Orange glow with a settling decent head. Sweet citrus and pine runs through the brew. Very nice.

500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a pint glass. Pours clear amber with a moderate white head that mostly remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of lemon, pine and caramel, along with biscuit malts. The flavour is delicate and balanced, with slight piney hops and slight caramel and pale malts. Lemon and herbs come through as well. It closes out with a medium-long, moderate bitter finish. On the palate it is light in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent pale ale, though it feels a bit light in the body. 2013-06-05

Growler, 10C. A beer Iíve passed on many times because of unease about bottle age. Pale amber with a modest white head. Aroma of oranges and flowers, peaches, lychees. Sweet stone and tropical fruit with clean pale malt malt supporting, then a floral peppery bitter finish thatís moderate but cuts through nicely. Reminders of some of the newer English golden ales hopped with new world hops, though presumably this came first. Delicate, refreshing and highly drinkable.

It pours as a colour between copper and amber with thin off white head that dissipates quite fast. The aroma is quite muted with caramel malts and an earthy aroma mixed with hops, not unpleasant. The taste is the same as the aroma and the earthy taste was different to what I am used too but once again not unpleasant. The body was a bit watery with minimal aftertaste. I suspect that this beer was not a great representation of their work and may have been stale. I will have to try it fresh when I go to NZ next Christmas.

Aroma: clementine Appearance: Huge fluffy rocky head which lasts until the end, a bit cloudy golden colour body, Amazing lacing! I can see the individual rings going down the glass showing the progress of the drinking. Taste: hoppy taste with lively carbonation.

Very nearly clear, short white head. Nose of sweet malts, pie crust, honey, very faint grass hops. Thin, maybe under carbonated, traces of salt. Loads more cereal than expected. Very mild medicinal hop, with traces of peach. Not aromatic or crisp. Washed out modest mineral finish. Very very simple.
