Single at the LCBO with a neck label written, Silver Australian International Beer Awards 2010. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a bubbly head that disappears quickly, but has a little lacing, here and there. The nose seems off-balanced, with some light hops at first which are good, but then, this big cereal puff comes up, and seems all over. A mix of caramel malts with dark fruits and other aromas that donít blend very well. The taste is pretty much the same. Maybe a got a bad bottle, but I am not a fan of this one.

A malt heavy pale ale along the English style more than American. Finishes malty sour. Not a great deal going on here. Bottle.

Bottle from the LCBO. Copper-amber colour with a thin cap of slightly off-white head. Somewhat muted but appealing aroma of caramel malt and citrus-inflected hops. Medium bodied with good level of carbonation. Flavour is a bit more robust than the aroma suggests, with the same caramel malt/citrus hops balance. Tasty and quite sessionable, but I suspect that the hops would pop more if the bottle was fresher.

I poured it harder than a mofo & I couldnít get a cap on this pour. Youíd get more head pouring a soda. Odd. Underwhelming aroma & ginger-ale look makes me wary. Do I have a spoiled bottle here? Nothing special nor offensive here. Wonít be buying a second bottle.

Gushes a little but upon first opening. Has a touch of papery aroma initially. Very pale golden pour. Thin white head. The aroma is very muted. Soft citrus and a touch of very light malt. Papery with a little bit of chemically bitterness. I donít think any of these hoppy Renaissance beers have held up very well and there are some slight QC issues that donít help either (Iíve had gushing on three of the Renaissance beers Iíve had). Oxidation is pretty significant and thereís really nothing left here to hang on to. Very thin-bodied.

Bottle [500ml]. Pours copper-gold with a small semi-lasting frothy white head. Aroma of bready malt, grain, some light citrus and light grassy hops. Flavour of bready malt, citrus, other fruit, light herbal hops and a dry average bitter finish. Average bodied. Disappointing, I expected better, quite mediocre. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 ml bottle from the LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear amber with a fair off-white head. Aroma: Starts off quite brothy, then some decent citrus and tropical fruit hop notes take over, fairly nice biscuit/toast malt notes offer support, a bit light in the hop department, but not bad. Palate: Medium body, relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Decent citrus and resin with caramel/toffee malt support, not bad but also not great; dry with fair bitterness and a finish of minerals and light citrus.

Iíve discovered that this is a bit weak.

It pours amber with a brown highlight; the head is off-white and foamy. The aroma has notes of: toffee, biscuit, grapefruit and pine. The taste is very light sweet that finishes light dry/bitter; there are notes of: grapefruit juice, alcohol, and cookie. The palate is light-medium bodied, lightly carbonated, and has a medium bitter finish. Overall, eh..

500mL liblcko bottle. Clear copperish yellow. Aroma is nice but too faint, with some decent hops that donít seem particularly North American and a modest malt backbone. Flavour is the same story with some decent hop flavour upfront and minuscule bitterness. The malt body stands out more which is confusing as itís really weak. Finish has some okay lingering hop notes that are of the citrus variety. Overall and enjoyable beer just jesus-fucking-christ-on-a-chicken-basket is this stuff over-priced. I will not be purchasing any more of the beers from this release owing to how fucking stupidly expensive they are for what you get. Someone needs to pull their head out of their ass.
