Aroma of sweet passionfruit, very faint resin. Tan head. Tastes hoppy, resin, coffee, chocolate, bit sweet, burnt malt. Dry palate, a bit slick, slightly astringent.

From Braedon, drank at Jay's house. Dark brown with no head. Smells of herbal tea, light soy sauce, floral grassy hop. Tastes of plum, dark fruit, slightly raisiny and sour, spice, herbal grassy hop. Body is thick, slick, a bit acidic. A slightly weird if interesting beer. Good amount of herbal grassy hop but overall too raisiny/sour.

Associated/Cityfresh in Bushwick Brooklyn for $7: Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is pine, herbs, rye, sugar, and some fruitiness. Taste is moderately bitter. Aftertaste is a little sharp, but not too oppressive. Tangy. Full of resin. Medium bodied. It is not a bad black IPA, but it is not really my thing.

Cunningham (5626) - Halden, NORWAY - MAR 15, 2015
Black pour with a solid frothy beige head. Nice lacing. Coffee, herbal and quite mild hoppy aroma. Medium to full body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Coffee, roasted, mild fruity, mild pine and mild grapefruit hoppy flavor. Nice ale. But not to much BIPA stuff.
[Bottle from Utobeer Market Stall at Borough Market in London, England]

Plenty of coffee, chocolate and dried fruit in the flavour. Moderately hoppy and bitter but less so than many black IPAs. Overall very enjoyable though. Would certainly have more.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pitch black pour with a big creamy light tan head, aroma has chocolate and a hint off coffee, only the slightest of piney hop action but some delightful creamy chocolate, some coffee, bitter finish.

Bottle bought from Hop Burns and Black; shared with Steve from Beer O’Clock Show and Clayton @ Chelmsford Ale House; 3rd January 2015. Opaque with a white head. Aroma is burnt notes asphalt, cigars. Some moderate hoppy notes. Taste is beachwood smoke, cherry fruits, cigars and tar. Not really infected but definitely oxidised. If only the taste lived up to the utterly fantastic aroma. Big let-down on the taste.

500ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Almost black, not much head. Fruity cola aroma. Chocolate coffee & prune flavour. Smooth with slightly spicy sweet aftertaste. Not hoppy and bitter enough fo an IPA.
