Age of Raisin is aromatic, spicy, light brown Belgian style ale brewed with raisins and passion (27% passion by volume). Raisins were added to the boil and fermenter to yield a subtle background flavour to this rich and flavoursome brew. The passion was added using our own secret method....

Super cloudy amber red pour from bottle at Lakehouse. White head. Sweet, malty, and sugar aroma. Brown sugar, ripe fruit, and of course raisins. Weird. Not bad at all

Bottle, shared with Dave. Dark amber, medium light beige head. Estery caramel, sultana sweetness. Nothing to get excited about, a bit underwhelming in fact, considering the quality that these guys put out.

2014-11-17. Lightly hazy brown body, large foamy beige head. 3++ Aroma of dusty malt, dark fruit with a lightly tangy quality to it. Flavour is similar, sweet malty base with touches of caramel, and almost Belgian like yeast quality, raisins, dark fruit with tangy fruity undercurrents suggestive of perhaps too long in the cellar. Smooth average plus body is effervescently carbonated. Enjoyable but not particularly exciting. Bottle from LCBO, Toronto.

Boutip (5001) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 5, 2014
Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian malt with light caramel notes and some dry fruits clearly identifiable. Taste is also dominated by light sweet caramelized malt notes with some dry fruits notes easily noticeable. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting but not necessarily something I would seek on a regular basis.

Metalchopz (2501) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 3, 2014
Pours a rich amber colour with a big frothy warm-beige head that is foamy, still coming out of the bottle. Fruity raisin nose at first, with eventual sweet malt, apples and grassy hops. The taste has the raisins, but is quite mild. More metallic hops and then, soft prunes and apples. A little roasted malts come out in the finish. Decent overall, but not one I would have again (not my style).

Canmoore (304) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2014
Pours a rich dark ruby amber, with a massive creamy head that lasts and lasts. The aroma profile includes raisins, dates, figs, and yeast. Tasting notes include raisins, passion fruit, dates, yeast, and some roasty malts. The body is a light despite the dark colour, and rich aromas. The finish is quite dry. Not a bad Belgian, and it has the potential to be so much more!
