COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Age of Raisin is aromatic, spicy, light brown Belgian style ale brewed with raisins and passion (27% passion by volume). Raisins were added to the boil and fermenter to yield a subtle background flavour to this rich and flavoursome brew. The passion was added using our own secret method....

Bottle from the LCBO Not much aroma at all a little like grape juice It was ok but the taste was too much like grape juice for my liking

Alpha10 (371) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 18, 2014
2014/06/18 - Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a small, creamy, khaki head that quickly reduces to a lasting surface film. Aroma is raisins, dark fruits, caramel, candied sugar, spices, Belgian yeast and a hint of buttery rum. Tate is similar to nose; moderately sweet dark fruits, candied sugar, spices, toasted malts and a hint of booze. 500 mL bottle. Pours red tinged mahogany with a cap of beige foam. Medium mouthfeel with smooth carbonation and a drying finish. Ok. With so many great strong Belgian style beers out there available for a comparable price, I doubt I will revisit this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

neuromatt (1218) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 13, 2014
500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours clear ruby-amber with a small tan head that fades quickly to a thin remnant and leaves a trace of lace. The nose has big notes of caramel, toffee, figs and grapes with flowers, spices and a touch of earth. The flavour is medium sweet with candi sugar, toffee and raisins. Floral notes and subtle spice come through from the nose as well. The finish is medium in length, with toffee, big raisins and a touch of flowers. On the palate it is light-medium in body, with a slightly syrupy texture and very soft carbonation. Overall, a nice Belgian style ale brewed with raisins. It is much lighter than I expected. The raisins add a nice touch of complexity, but I feel it would have been more impressive with a fuller body or perhaps with a bit more carbonation. 2014-06-13

500 mL bottle. Pours red tinged mahogany with a cap of beige foam. Raisin, candi sugar, baking spices and buttered rum on the nose. Faintly sweet with a hint of bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Surprisingly light, moderate bodied with average carbonation. Not bad, not great.

basement aromas, the aroma is an intense dark sweet sugary mess. Notes of raisins, sherry, candied cherries, and quite alot of candi sugar. The mouth feel is fine, and the carb is a tad low. Thw finish is low on the bitterness scale, with a mineral sweet raisin and dark candied plum blast. Quite interesting.

500ml bottle from LCBO. Toronto, Ontario. 6.5% alc./vol. Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a small lasting off-white head. Aroma is raisins, and dark fruits. Taste matches aroma with a well balanced hoppy crisp finish. Medium body with a lively carbonation.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. pours a hazy brownish colour. Estery aroma with a sweetness, earthyness and sweet fruit. On the palate it proves drier than expected, has some tartness and flavours of malts and some plums. I find this one more balanced than expected and the raisin is integrated well enough. Interesting brew but not really I style that I seek out.

500 mL bottle. Cola brown with just a film of head. Smells like what it is - raisins and Belgian yeast. Smells sweet. The flavour is not as sweet, and the raisins are a part of the whole, rather than the focal point of this beer. Not really anything else interesting going on, though. Not bad.

LCBO assignment. Pours cloudy golden body with dissipitating white head. Raisin aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Refreshing but more than a few ounces were tiring. A little more invigorating than say an Innis & Gunn.
