This is the big, hearty íred wineí of our range. Nine malts are blended to produce layers of caramel, coffee, liquorice, chocolate and roasty flavours and these are balanced by a tart, raisiny fruitiness that gradually gives way to a lingering dry finish. Rich, full bodied. warming and moreish. Stonecutter pairs well with venison, roast beef or lamb, or the heartiest casseroles and stews. For dessert try with a creme brulee or, of course, Scottish shortbread.

0.5l bottle from BrewDog Camden. A deep dark lightly cloudy ruby-brown body under a medium sized beige - quite creamy lasting head. Heavy laceworking! Itís quite malty on the nose with fruits, sweet caramel, licorice and hintís of both chocolate and burned cake. Nice on the aroma. A nice almost creamy texture with a average to soft carbonation level. Definitely malty flavors, a bit nutty as well. Some roasted hints with dry dark caramel and some integrated alcohol in a quite nutty-bitter finish and aftertaste. Quite delicious. 29.07.2012

Bottle from local Yamaya.Massively malty nose, rich and earthy, with crushed dark fruit, and some smokey notes. Bright cherry red/brown color. Sweet and complex initial, with raisins, plums, spice, and licorice. Bitterness is subtly present throughout. Medium-heavy and a bit thick on the tongue. Very nice stuff. Maybe a bit overly sweet, but it is delicious.

Keg at CP&K, 24/04/15. Rich chestnut brown with a well appointed beige cap that retains well. Nose is light smoke, biscuit, toffee, dark fruit rinds, light treacle, earthy vibes. Taste comprises lightly smoked malt, trace of cocoa powder, sweetínísour notes, toffee, biscuit, light wood. Medium bodied, fine carbonaton, light bitterness in the close. Decent stuff, good balance, one of the best Iíve had from this style.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear dark mahogany brown pour with a frothy light tan head, dark fruit, autumn leaves and booze aroma, taste has toffee, some spice, caramel malts, a hint of chocolate, toffee apple, you can taste the booze, some woodiness, not normally into this style but this was very pleasant.
