COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the big, hearty ’red wine’ of our range. Nine malts are blended to produce layers of caramel, coffee, liquorice, chocolate and roasty flavours and these are balanced by a tart, raisiny fruitiness that gradually gives way to a lingering dry finish. Rich, full bodied. warming and moreish. Stonecutter pairs well with venison, roast beef or lamb, or the heartiest casseroles and stews. For dessert try with a creme brulee or, of course, Scottish shortbread.

***Kanske fel på flaskan*** Brun i färgen med litet vitt skum. Doftar sur/sött med choklad malt och vanilj. Tyvärr riktigt syrlig och grönsakig.

Drank from bottle at the Mondial de la Bière 2014 in Montreal. Golden brown, thin head. Barley aroma that is slightly sweet and fruity. Taste of barley drier, pretty hoppy, bitter finish. Solid enough for 7%!

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly cloudy dark brown with a whispy thin broken white head. The aroma is rich red berry fruit, treacle, toffee, caramel. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a rich fruity yeast hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not a style that inspires me, but this is one of the best I’ve had.

500 ml bottle. Deep ruby red colour with small beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and a little smoke. Flavour is sweet with roasted malt, caramel, smoke and a dry, bitter licorice finish. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation.

Keg - Golding’s Free Dive. A clear chestnut brown with a fine though lasting and lacing soapy off-white head. A solid malt-forward drop with yeasty complexities. Chocolate, roasted malt, bread, biscuit, mid and dried fruits and nut characters. Light to medium body, medium carbonation and firm palate texture with a modest length and intensity malty finish. The malt and yeast interplay is both charming and interesting. Also benefited straight out of the gates from not being served overly cold here to suit its style!

On tap at The Archive. A very nice beer, the Scotch flavours are pleasant but not over bearing, smooth and malty, well worth a try.

This is nice and full and rich. Drinks easily. looks great, colour is that deep rich chestnut, head and lacing. This has a nice bitterness and reasonable length of carry,
