Very deep brown. Smells malty sweet, but that doesn't show up in the mouth. Nice toasty quality well balanced by hops

Dark, nearly black with a very thin ring of head. Neat aroma with earthy Belgian yeasty tones, toffee, raisins, and dark yeasty esters. Dark earthy flavors with some toasty esters, dates and raisins, roastiness, and a bit of burnt pine. Very interesting.

On tap at brewery. Pour is pitch black with a frothy cream head and great lacing. Big pine, grass, spice, roast, a touch of cocoa, and vanilla in the aroma. Taste is roasted malt, caramel, cocoa, coffee, grassy, earthy, spice, and pine with a light bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Nice stuff!!

I forgot to put the S on the end when I entered this , FUUUU! -Pour is nearly black, with a frothy tan lace - nose is quite sweet, with moderate esters, mild woody notes, strong lavender notes (weird but pleasant) - flavor is very woody up front (pine), tart through the middle - quite sweet on the end, but with a peppery hop.character and mild dryish earthy phenols to balance - some warmth lingers - strange, a bit sweet, but I like it.
