Hop head? Yeah, this one’s for you. Crisp malt with a touch of caramel and a generous helping of rye. Oh yeah, and hops, hops and more hops. This Rye IPA is 7% ABV and 100+ IBU’s.

A clear, bright, sunset amber body displays a few streamers beneath a frothy smooth white head falling slowly to create dense, rhythmic, frothy lace all around

Bright aromas and flavors of peach, citrus, green melon, and a touch of dankness accented by rye spice with a shade of umami flowing through and growing with warmth on a smooth, lightly carbonated medium body offering soft creaminess, light tact, and a balanced residual of clean fruity-nutty sweetness against drying bitter citrus

I’m a little surprised by the lower ratings, I enjoyed the well formed, clean, focused profiles with the high ibu coming across in a very juicy, approachable manor

An eminently mediocre IPA. Aroma was almost non-existent and the taste was a mixture of clashing elements. I was given a four-pack by a friend. We each drank a can. I later tried another one, and will toss the last one.

1 pint can. Hazy cooper color, light white head. Aroma and taste of hips, rye, with notes of grass, malt, and slight caramel. Not as much rye sour impact as other versions of this style.

16 oz can. Bright amber orange with an average off-white head. Aroma is of rye, spices, light pine, grass, sesame seeds, and malt. Taste is of toast, sesame, caramel, light pine, and dried leaves.

Bitter, and not much else. I taste the Rye, but so what? It’s merely a trendy grain, and rather unpleasant; astringent and boring.

Can. The look is a foamy cream colored head, clear, and golden in color. The smell is pine, rye, light, fruit, and grain sweetness. The taste is is hops, pine, fruit, and rye.

16 oz. can at Denver Day of Rock. Appearance: straw yellow, clear. Aroma: pine heavy, citrus, floral, light caramel. Palate: average carbonation, medium body, very soapy and bitter finish. Taste: nice malt sweetness and mild bitterness at the end, but as it lingers the bitterness builds more and more in a not too pleasant way. Overall, aftertaste on this (4-6 seconds) is not pleasant for me. Other than that, pretty good beer.

Sample at the taproom. Hazy amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short spicy hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

On tap at the brewery. Golden amber and clear appearance with a white head and lacing. Sweet aroma with light citrus, light spices and some off-notes. Similar flavor, sweet and tangy, with an average body. Tastes off, bad batch perhaps. Where’s the rye?

Not a bad beer, but fairly unremarkable in the sea of really great IPAs, and ryes increasingly, that are out there. Color and unremarkable beery orange, and very little head when poured from the 16oz. can. Nose is pleasant with mild rye spice, some sweet orange, and floral hops, but more muted than I was expecting. Tastes of all that, with some grass and malt that seems nice until it is abruptly stomped out by too much bittering hops, which is basically the death of this beer - I can see a re-tweek of the recipe fixing the problem, but right now the brew’s good qualities are overshadowed by the astringency.
