Pours clear light orange with white lacing. Light aroma of rye & citrus peel. Palate is full-bodied, really hoppy with lots of bitter grapefruit flavor. Rye is nice, not overbearing, but a nice complinet to the hops. Very lingering finish.

Deep opaque copper. Aroma has slight rye with a ton of citrus hops. Smells also, oddly, of freshly cleaned copper. But the taste is where it’s at. Caramel malt and rye hit first, with some grapefruit/orange citrus rind, resinous and juicy. Balanced, assertive, big delightful flavor. Win!

Solid straightforward IPA that gets rounded out by earthy, rustic rye notes. Took a growler of this home. Nice go-to if they decide to bottle it. One of the better rye IPAs I’ve had.

On tap at brewery. Pours amber. Nice sweet aroma. It’s not quite overly bitter and the rye really sticks out well on the back end. This is quite enjoyable and a great start for the brewery.

Pour on tap is clear orange with nice white head, aroma brings notes of big pine, caramel, orange and citrus notes with a nice spicy rye presence. Taste is a nice mix of pine and spicy hops, touch of orange and grapefruit, hints of rye spice but not really very present, touch of biscuit and caramel finishes fairly bitter. Nice stuff, like it!

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2011 [Have had a few more times since the initial batch - the hop profile is much more strong and crisp, keeping the sweetness much more in check - solid and my current go-to local IPA] Tap at the brewery - lightly hazy orange - nose explodes with wet, fresh, citric hop character - medium body, creamy mouthfeel - mildly acidic, with moderate sweetness to balance - moderately bitter, earthy hop character, carrying a lot o citrus flavor, complimented fairly well by the light sourness of the rye - a bit yeasty, and the sweetness lingers a bit, but I enjoyed this one.

64 ounce growler thanks to Armin. Nice orange pour. Good foamy head. Caramel. Bitter. Not in your face hops, but well done and balanced. Very tasty and even at 7% feels very drinkable and sessionable.
