75 cl. bottle split with Kogymo. Procured @ De Hopduvel. Bottled on valentines day 2014. Lots of pressure on this one, opened very, very slowly, luckily not a gusher. Hazy brown, non-lasting head. Ripe fruits upfront, light decay, oak, malt-rich, spices, quite a bit of murky wood, lightly murky vinous leading into substantial but balanced balsamic vinegar, oak, sour finish, almost reminiscent of Rodenbach Vintage. Not very complex or attenuated but very satisfactory. Looking at previous reviews, either this brewery has really stepped up their game or I got lucky.

750 ml bottle at home - guuuuusher. Pours murcky amber brown with an eggshell white head. Aroma of dark malt with prune and a swift of dark forest fruits. Light sour body, a little sweetness but not much, slight bitter dry finish. Taste: virtually none, bitterness is all that is left behind. Not bad but lacks character and complexity vs. for example Ypres, Rodenbach Vintage,...

Bottled at the Leiderkerke Beer Festival. Nose of cinnamon, coconut, chocolate, speculoos. Obviously greatly sweetened. Very muddy, murky brown with lace. Flavors of tangy fruit, a bit of vinegar, cinnamon and spice, ginger bread. Very sweet, with chocolate and speculoos. Not so good.

Countbeer (4427) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - AUG 3, 2013
Bottle: Served in a Duvel glass: Medium to bigger sized creamy off white foamy head on top of a murky deep dark red brown colored beer. Aromas of yoghurt, cherries, malts, sweetsour, some plastic and paper tones, some brown sugars, wood and corn and some oat. Flavours of sour, yoghurt, brown sugars, malts, some cherrries and berries, bitter, sweetsour. Decent... Aftertaste is malty, hint of red fruit, some yeast and a close to nasty bitterness. Low carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture.

slight beige head that disappears quickly with some lacing. light brown amber clear colour. aroma of anise, candysugar, strawberry candy. taste like the aroma slight balsamic with a slight wry bitter aftertaste. dry mouthfeel, rather thin body, a lot of carbonation. it ain’t bad, but not great either. it could definitely be pimped :) bottle 75 cl / brewed on 5th of may 2013

ChrisOs Marvellous Pre GBBF Mega Tasting. Explosive beer! Very hazy brown in colour, with a small pale tan head. Light dry palate. A little dry orange and dried fruits. Some bitterness - touch or berry fruits. Dry finish. Ok, a bit dry. And messy!

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012. Pours cloudy amber with a medium, foamy head, some sediment. Tangy wood and leaves in the nose. Sour flavor, light sweetness, more wood and leaves. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry finish, tangy, with leather and berries. Also, this beer gushed like crazy.

Interesting take on an old brown, showing off oak itself rather than tart fruit or balsamic from half-wild yeast. Attractive red-brown with fluffy head. Extremely mellow acidity and light oxidation provide the vinous character. Somewhat tannic and fairly dry, with light caramel impression of sweetness and plain old wood in the aroma and flavor. The brewer may try to add more bugs, but I think I like this the way it is.
