COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Skyscraper’s hugely popular collaboration beer, The Gentleman Scholar Requiem Espresso Stout is celebrating its first anniversary with a special, even-more-limited release - Requiem with Natural Vanilla. We added real Madagascar vanilla beans to a portion of our normal Requiem, and it imparted a very nice, subtle vanilla character to the beer. This one is draft only.

A: The beer pours essentially black in color with a finger of tan head. S: The vanilla definitely comes through and adds a nice sweetness to the beer. Coffee and roasted malt, along with some dark chocolate. A hint of dark fruit notes are also there. T: Very similar to the aroma. Big time vanilla and the associated sweetness. A nice chocolate character, particularly dark chocolate. Mild bitterness from the roasted malt and coffee. M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: I liked this one better than the regular one (which is still pretty good). The vanilla really adds a nice depth.
