2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle (22oz). Dark brown with 2 figure head. I think this was an average ale. Not much malt or flavor. Slight burnt taste. Pretty thin in the mouth. This will not be among my regulars,

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours somewhat opaque dark brown. Light aroma of fresh hops. Tastes fresh grassy and hoppy with significant bitterness. Surprisingly little malt flavor or character for a brown. Meh

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazelnut pour at the brewery. Super mild aroma. Actually a really significant hop bite in here, which I really like. Citrus and earthy sweet malts blend really well. Again (noticing a pattern with their brews), really drinkable. Liked this one quite a bit.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Olafís. Pours murky dark caramel brown with medium thick off white head. Aroma is light chocolate malt and a hint of hops. Taste is thin bodied chocolate malt that has big malty, nutty, dry flavor. Big hops on the back, bitter notes of pine and grass. As someone else noted, this could easily pass for a black IPA. The hops are much appreciated, but definitely atypical for this style.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Lovely brown, translucent reddish hues. Ok head. Warm, tingling, intermingling of brown and chocolate malt aromas. Toasty brown malt that sits very warmly on the palate. Sharp chocolate dust and hazlenut notes make themselves known as well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy dark brown with a loose tan head. Lots of sheeting lace. Big roasty dry peaty bread crust nose. Very nice. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toast, earth, peat, caramel, and bread crust on the mid palate. Long dry finish. Really good.
