Pours brown with minimal tan head. Smells of a sweet dark roast coffee and chocolate. Taste follows the nose albeit with some charred wood. The body is a bit more watery than Iíd like. Itís an average porter.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear soft cherry cola brown with a thin tan head. Big bakers cocoa, chocolate, soft roast on the nose, earthy coffee. Medium bodied, thins a touch, roast, a bit of stone fruit, hints of cherry, chocolate, cocoa, roast. Slow earthy roast into the finish. Chocolate.

Sample at Tap House Grill. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Patchy lacing. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty with a nutty and malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle share at Cotteridge II as Reubenís Robust Porter, 5.9%. Many thanks to one of the northern alcoholics who attended. Very dark brown, red hue, small foamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, liquorice, lightly floral. Body is smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is floral, a little salty, coffee, liquorice, quite hoppy. Nice. (3.6)

Bottle split at CCii, thanks to shartshorne, 05/03/16. Light black with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate biscuit, roast malt, toffee. Taste comprises a good roasty coating, chocolate, toffee, molasses. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light spice and more roasted notes in the close. Decent porter.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers and Tom Hanks! Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds earth, chocolate and burnt pine. Medium sweet flavour with cocoa, light bitter earth, pine, citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet to conclude, with good hop expression, more pine, earth. Good stuff overall.
