4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bomber bought from the brewery into a mason jar style glass on 12.10.14.
A: Cocoa, mocha, brown sugar, and slight roastiness. It smells awesome.
A: 1 finger tan head that recedes to a foamy fluff. Opaque black body with red at the bottom and sides.
T: Cocoa and mocha dominate. Brown sugar and very slight roastiness are subtle.
P: Watery like a porter should be. Excellent fluffy smooth mouthfeel.
O: I donít know how they make such excellent beers, but Reubenís manages. This was my consolation prize to myself for missing out on their Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. (It sold out in 1 1/2 hours, arggh!). This was chocolatey sweet, but it didnít go too far with the sweetness. It had a very nice balance, but leaned sweet. It was so smooth that it seemed like a thin oatmeal stout.

Draught at the brewery
Black color with beige creamy head. Roasty malt aroma. Dry mouthfeel, with roasted malts, burnt feeling, and not enough chocolate.
More Stout than Porter.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance has a nice tan head sitting atop a dark rich ruby brown beer leaving nice lace. Smell of the roasted malt, coffee with a yeasty tang. Taste has the same sense as of the smell with a little dark chocolate thrown in. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall a nice take on a robust porter.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a smallish tan head on it. Nose has some roasting and sljghtly sour dark fruit elements to it. Taste is quite roasty and just a bit bitter, and very smooth, with a hint of chocolate in the end.

Bomber, shared with friends over pizza. Pours deep and dark with good head. Aroma: big on roast and chocolate. Taste: mild sweetness, big roast bitter finish. Palate: medium body, nearly perfect mouthfeel. Overall: this was an awfully nice porter. Awfully nice. Flavorful and way easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Dark brown in appearance with a layer of mocha foam. Standard Porter aroma of coffee, chocolate and burnt malts. Taste is roasted caramel malt, cocoa powder and light roast coffee with a bit of piney hops around the edges. Medium-bodied mouthfeel with average carbonation and a dry, charred finish. Overall, a standard Porter with a significant amount of roastiness throughout each sip.
