Dark roast, soft sweetness, a little earthy hop presence. Dark brown almost black pour, tan head. Flavors of roast, soft caramel/chocolate sweetness, a little coffee and a touch of hop dryness. Smooth, balanced, really a solid well done house porter.

Bottled 11.03.14. Poured from a bomber bought from the brewery into a mason jar style glass on 12.10.14. A: Cocoa, mocha, brown sugar, and slight roastiness. It smells awesome. A: 1 finger tan head that recedes to a foamy fluff. Opaque black body with red at the bottom and sides. T: Cocoa and mocha dominate. Brown sugar and very slight roastiness are subtle. P: Watery like a porter should be. Excellent fluffy smooth mouthfeel. O: I donít know how they make such excellent beers, but Reubenís manages. This was my consolation prize to myself for missing out on their Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. (It sold out in 1 1/2 hours, arggh!). This was chocolatey sweet, but it didnít go too far with the sweetness. It had a very nice balance, but leaned sweet. It was so smooth that it seemed like a thin oatmeal stout.
