Bottle... Clear amber pour with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is equal parts rye, hefeweizen yeast - and its associated esters and phenols - and caramel malt. Medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. Nicely balanced notes of medium-roast malts, hefeweizen yeast spiciness, and gritty rye. Finishes crisp, lightly bitter and mildly phenolic. Kudos to 50belair for sharing his bottle of this interesting beer!

Interesting brew. Deep amber in color. Easy to drink. Sweet malt flavors of toast, light caramel and nuts. Banana esters gave it a nice dimension. Tasty stuff.

650ml bottle. Deep amber/brown with good size head that leaves behind some lacing. Aroma: rye! Plus light toasted and light floral notes. Taste has plenty of peppery, gingery rye spice. It does taste like a rye hefeweizen just like the label says, but with less of a yeast-dominance. Pretty good stuff.

Tap. Pours a crystal clear reddish amber body with a small wispy white head, The nose is really nice, lots of earthy rye bread and minimal hops, letting the rye shine. The flavor is a bit thin, but lots of earthy rye and rye bread notes. There are some moderately bitter hops in here, but they are second fiddle to the rye. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with some fizzy carbonation and slightly clingy maltiness. Pretty damn nice Roggenbier.

Pours amber with a thin sheet of white foam. Smells like buttered popcorn, toasted rye chips. Flavor isnít much either, grain, some toast, some more butter, some astringency. Medium on thin with a moderately sparky carb and a dry finish. Overall really donít feel this beer.

Bomber. Dark reddish brown in appearance with a half-inch of tan foam and bubbles. Mostly fruity esters, clove and toasted grains in the aroma. Taste is a straightforward blend of clove, banana and rye spice notes. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and a slightly sour, spiced grain finish. Rye Hefeweizen sounds about right. Well done.

My first beer of this style, so I'm reviewing with a clean slate. Nice bready, almost nutty but not quite, flavor. Some tangy ness and spiciness too. Actually quite good, but would prefer to see an imperial version with more oomph. B+

10th rating of this bad boy, yes! Draft at the source, with ajax25g. Hazy amber color, thick bright tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of slightly sour, lightly spiced brown bread. Taste is sour caramel bubblegum. Tasty.
