Limited Special Release. Poured a huge tan frothy head that was mostly lasting, fair amount of lacing, transparent, reddish brown hue, and visible carbonation. Nose was malty, hoppy, sweet and some nutty notes. Flavor was sweet, malty, hoppy and light chocolate flavor. Mouthfeel was mostly smooth with a slight tinglyness. Light-medium body. More hoppy tasting than I expected for this style. Worthy of a try IMO.

Brown ruby, with a nice off white head. Aroma is alcohol, mixed fruit, light caramel. Taste is lightly alcoholic, light toffee, some caramel, light nuttyness to it. Alcohol kinda overwhelms this beer.

A brown ale can’t get much better than this. Light whisky and a rye aroma. Full malt flavor, some rye and unprocessed grain. Considerable hops in the flavor as well, and alcohol on the palate.

22 oz. bottle - first time i’ve tried an ’imperial’ brown ale; pours a very dark and deep brown with slight head; strange aroma mix of malts, alcohol and nutty coffee; drinks dry and its strength overwhelms the sweetness

thanks to Skyview for sharing. Dark Amber, almost brown, pour with faint creamy light brown head. Well balanced hops and malt in the nose. Faint coffee character and chocolate. Bitter hop finish and plenty of rye grain.

Picked up single 22-oz bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle, WA. Pours a dark coppery-brown brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissolves to a fine film. Aroma of caramel malt, some rye grain, and roasted nuts. Taste isfull bodied, smooth, creamy with flavors of apples, butter, and a hint of chocolate. Finish is smooth with a light lingering bitter aftertaste.

Some butter notes in the aroma, also some pheonls, leads to a bad smell. Taste is alright. Creamy, biting and with noticeable alcohol. just not great. Unimpressed. Cool cause though.

Bottle. Poured an opaque brown color. Head was light tan. Aroma was of dried cherry and malty caramel. A bit overly effervescent on the tongue. Tasted of toffee, caramel, and a hint of chocolate. Pretty good.
