Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle at Butters Big Cellar Blowout! Pours an amber body and an off-white head. Brown sugar, spicy hops, and some rye. Taste caramelized malts and some rye...like honey-butter on rye bread. I like the hops on the finish. Indra (2023), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Apr 2, 2009 22oz. bottle. Spicy, fruity aroma, lightly sweet, fresh and bready, with notes of caramel apple, citrus, red grape, toasty malts, dusty grains and the distinctive touch of rye in the foreground. Cloudy medium-dark red color, with a lasting, light tan head. Flavor is sweet and spicy, the rye and caraway seemingly apparent throughout, with plenty of toffeeish malt sweetness, pepper, dark bread, and a touch of earthy, herbal hop character and very mild bitterness. Smoothly effervescent mouthfeel, body is medium. Really not bad, I found that I consumed the bomber rather quickly. Bier brauen (210), Bremerton, Washington, USA Mar 29, 2009 I thought this was a nice quality brew. Nice nose of malt. Dark, copper color. Very nice mouthfeel. Definitely not thin, but not too thick of body. Just right. Sweet malt and balanced. $3.00 for 22 oz. bottle at Tacoma Boys, you can’t beat the price. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Mar 8, 2009 Crimson brew with a nice 1/4 inch khaki head. Smooth and refreshing. Caramel malt, toffee, and brown sugar; both in the nose and flavor. Can really only detect the rye in the finish. Nice carbonation. Sweet but not cloying. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Copper beer with a slight tan head. Light malt aroma with some earthiness and light darker malts. Malt and caramel flavor with earthiness and light spice. Medium bodied - very smooth mouthfeel. Caramel and spice lingers with some light earth. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA Feb 27, 2009 22oz bottle pours a garnet red color with a creamy off white head. Very grassy aroma with some bread and yeast in there. Dryness in the beginning with some sweetness to back it up. Slight caramel in addition to some smoke. Middle of the road and easily drinkable. Almost session material. mrhoppy (209), Santa Clara, California, USA Feb 22, 2009 Deep garnet color with a very thin head. Hearty rye grain in the nose. Very appealing. Thin body. Flavor is classic double red with the rye bent. Hint of a soy sauce barrel. Dry, English, bitter Delicious beer. nathan30533 (138), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA Feb 12, 2009 Pours a dark mahogany/ lite brown with a white forming head. Smell of malts and a bit of rye.
