Pours dark transparent garnet with cascading bubbles a small head and great lacing. Flavor is caramel and crystal malts with some rusty resin hops. All that finishes with strong rye. Taste is smooth and malty with good use of the rye and caraway. Spicy slightly bitter aftertaste. Decent bee. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a decent but nothing-special amber with an aroma of pure malt, much like what one smells when on the malt part of a beer tour. Flavor is a soured, red wine hybrid malt beverage that is not unlike other similar beers. Average palate. This beer is par for the course; I want a birdie.. or a bogey, depending on my mood.
