3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Barley’s Greenville. Pours a hazy light gold with a small white head. The aroma is surprisingly mild, I wasn’t sure what the Reuinion ’09 would be, but I figured it would be something strong. Hints at banana, coriander are in the nose. This has to be a wheat beer. The palate is medium light and just barely sticky. This is drinkable with more wheaty citrus flavor and an almost tart finish.

Draft at Elysian on Cap Hill. Pours a very deep murky yellow with little to no white head. Upon smelling this, I had very high hopes. Deep citrus, light floral, spice with hints of bready wheat...smells damn good. First impression on the palate is very good, wheaty citrus wit, but then it just falls off and the finish is weak and very ’rough’. Too bad that the taste just couldn’t live up to the nose on this one. On the bright side, the best of the Reunion beers imho to date.

Nose is nice and citrusy - lemons, oranges, and wheat malt. Opaque hazy yellow orange pour, no head. The flavor has tons of wheat malt and corriander. Chalky mouthfeel.

Tap a Pizza Port - Solona Beach. Pours ahazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Nose is full of wheat with a lite hop tone to it. Flavors are creamy wheat, vanilla, butter, lemon. Mouth is super creamy, medium bodied. Pretty good for me with a style that admittedly is not one of my favorites.

On tap at Pizza Port San Clemente. Listed as Pizza Port Reunion 09 Double Wheat Ale. I am assuming this is the same beer as Reunion is a charity contract brew. Pours with a hazy yellow body and a small white head. Aroma of orange, lemon, herbal notes and clove. Taste is much the same with spices, bubblegum yeast, and citrus. Medium to lovely carbonation. Pretty good for the Reunion beer series.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at taco mac. Pours a milky hazed bright yellow with bright white soapy head. Nose of lemon zest, white pepper, clove. All of which comes through in the flavor. A little yeasty but surpisingly crisp. Very effervescent. Like a belgian wit actually. Refreshing, like lemonade. Pretty damn good for style.

Draft at Taco Mac. Cloudy yellow pour. Aroma is full of citrus and other typical witbier notes - spice and wheat. Flavor is a little light on wheat but high in the citrus and coriander department - like touches of tangerine juice. Overall - very tasty.

Tap @ TacoMac, John’s Creek. Opaque yellow, rocky white head. Aroma of a radler. Lemonade and sweet malt. yum. Very floral, lots of juice of lemon, sweet malt. nice tang flavor of citrus fruit juice. The body reminds me of a lightened version of Terrapin 30 Strong, lemon fruit juice added. Medium bodied, on the bolder side. Strong lemon flavor is very appealling. lots of fun.
