Super beer! Poured at a good temperature with a collassal, foamy, frothy, fluffy, light tan head that settled very slowly and lots of lace. Color is a dark mahoganey with some tiny bubble trails. Aroma is great - vanilla, roast, malt, hint of cinnamon. Flavor’s like nose and has very good balance all the way around, sweet, carbonic tang, and bitter. The rich flavors are tamed just right. Body & carbonation are just right. Finish is like flavor although there’s a medicinal component that detracts. Finish is also long. I had a piece of habanero jack cheese and it messed up my mouth, so this review is provisional.

Pours a dark brown color with a thick fluffy khaki head that leaves pretty good lacing. Smells of chocolate and vanilla and roasted malt. Tastes of all the same things in the smell and cinnamon. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy and silky with medium carbonation. This is the definition of a great desert beer. The use of cocoa nibs, vanilla, and cinnamon work perfectly. Slightly better than last years version in my opinion.

Dark brown with thin layer of white head. Really nice original aroma of Mexican chocolate with cinnamon as the first think to hit the nose. Complex layers of flavors going here: milk chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, maple syrup, and hazelnut

Pours mahogany with a large brown-beige head. smell hints of roast, chocolate, hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Taste is cocoa nibs, and roast. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and light prickly mouth-carbonation, Schmaltz Reunion ’12 finishes with some cocoa bitterness.

Very good. Chocolate and vanilla are most prevalent. Slight citrus hints. Coffee finish. Thick and full but smooth. Good stuff

Round 3 in my week 1 drinking. This one is special for me as my father had his own battle with multiple myeloma which he has won up to this point. However has greatly change his quality of life. He has been in remission since 2008 thanks to cutting edge pharmaceuticals. Pours deep amber capped by a tan head with great retention. Slight lacing on my glass. Nose of cocoa and vanilla. Mouth starts with a creamy but full body. Vanilla, cocoa, caramel, and faint grass. Wow what a great beer.

On tap. Dark brown with a creamy off white head. Chocolate roasted grain caramel and cinnamon aroma and taste with a clean sweet cereal grain and strong vanilla finish and hints of cocoa powder. Nice full bodied velvety palate.

Dark brown pour with pillowtop light brown head. Nose and flavor is much more pronounced on the cinnamon than the terrapin version. Seems ’fresher’ also. The cocoa is more present on the flavor, as well as some vanilla and hints of tobacco. Creamy body and texture. I liked this one better.
