4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a dark, somewhat clear sienna with a fairly thick wheaty-tan head. Strong aroma fills the nose with malty, cinnamon, caramel and nutty notes plus a hint of wood. Flavor has a strong cinnamon and woody overtone floating atop good malty, chocolate and nutty notes plus hints of hops, caramel and horehound. Absolutely lip-smacking! Firm texture has plenty of fizz, leaving a tasty finish that has cinnamon, chocolate, nutty and caramel tones. Pity this is a one-and-done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Poured dark brown with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma was bitter chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla. Flavor was the same plus lots of roasted malt. Low bitterness. Very tasty. Couldn’t drink much of it, but it was a nice sipper.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2012 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a short, foamy tan head. Aroma is strong cinnamon and cocoa with spice notes. Taste is cocoa, strong cinnamon, spices, light caramel, and light vanilla. Much more spice and cinnamon oriented than the Shmaltz version. Body is medium with a strong, dense carbonation. Ends with more strong, lingering cinnamon, almost a soft, peppery-like spice, cocoa, light vanilla, caramel and sweet malt. Good but the Shmaltz version blows this away.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bomber from Spirits Brick. Poured a thinner bodied chocolate brown with an average sized foamy deep beige head. Aroma of chooclate and cinnamon, vanilla beans, cinnamon toast and grains. Medium mouthfeel that actually becomes thicker midswallow with stronger carbonation and a lingering aftertaste from the nontraditional ingredients. Flavor of cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate all at once followed by dry dark toast and some dried out cirus rinds. Solid beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Poured medium-deep brown with a creamy, sticky beige head. The aroma picked up lots of lightly-toasted cocoa and spicy cinnamon over nutty and chocolatey notes.. vanilla bean hit on the back of the nose.. I could’ve used more of the base beer in the nose, but I’m a sucker for the Oaxacan influence. The flavor found more of the base beer that I was looking for (a nice blend of roasted chocolate and nutty malts), but the other stuff became a little muddled.. cinnamon, cocoa, and vanilla were definitely there.. spicy cinnamon over nutty malts and cocoa on the warm finish. Medium-bodied and a bit slick on the palate.. too sharp from the spicage in a few places.. overall an interesting, but not great beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tallahassee, Fl - Liquor Loft - 22 oz bomber. Pours a dark cola-like brown with a thin but persistent off-white head. Enticing aroma with some licorice, anise seed and a touch of cocoa. Flavor is just as nice with a complex mixture of cocoa, licorice. a touch of cherries, some cinnamon notes - all blended together nicely. Some vanilla notes in the back end finish it out nicely. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Pretty solid.

Pours a nice deep brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is caramel with lots of chocolate, cocoa, and fudge. The Tate is very chocolately with medium sweetness. Interesting dessert beer. Not bad.

tap at porter. this beer rules! poured a clear dark ruby brown with a large, whipped, tan head. cinnamon nose. such a unique flavor. haven’t had anything like this before. it tastes like burnt marshmallows from a campfire with a little charred ash thrown in and the perfect amount of cinnamon. really awesome stuff.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark brown from the bottle with thin tan head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate. Taste follows suit, but the cinnamon comes through on the lingering palate. Alcohol is well hidden and the beer is well balanced. Great, want to try it on draught.
