COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Ale Brewed with Cocoa Nibs, Vanilla and Cinnamon Collaboration with Shmaltz Brewing Company This year’s beer is a similar dark ale to the one we brewed for Reunion ’11. It’s  brewed with cocoa nibs from our friends at Olive and Sinclair in Nashville, vanilla, and this year cinnamon. The flavor begins with complex malt overtones and quickly gives way to the chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Inspired by rich mugs of Mexican hot chocolate this is going to be especially good with BBQ, Mole and Churro…maybe from your favorite local food truck?

Very sweet aroma with chocolate notes. Pours with little to no head :( but this is a great beer from a great brewery. Very strong cinnamon flavor up front with a gentle chocolate finish. I’ll be buying this one again!

Dark brown pour with a medium thick foamy beige head that recedes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate. Medium-bodied with flavors of sweet chocolate, vanilla, roast malt and slight cinnamon. The finish is sweet with a vanilla mocha aftertaste. Above average overall.

Dark brown pour with a light beige head. Aromas of cinnamon, vanilla, sweet malt, and notes of cocoa. As it warms up, it begins to smell like German roasted nuts, very delicious. Flavor is very similar. A perfect balance between all of the flavors. Tasty and drinkable; a very well-made brew.

Botella -De color marrón oscuro con espesor medio en espuma y cabeza blanca. Aromas a vainilla, cacao y maltas. En gusto se aprecia una mezcla entre la malta dulce y la vainilla, pero contrarrestado por el chocolate amargo y la canela. Final seco. No está mal.

Bottle. Nice aroma of milk chocolate, vanilla, with perhaps a hint of cinnamon. Dark pour with slim white head. Medium mouthfeel, with a nice array of flavors including cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate. Finishes with a nice cinnamon heat. Flavors are well integrated, but also distinct. Was waiting for a bit of a let down, but this is quite solid!

On tap at WOB in Arlington. Deep brown with a decent beige head. Aroma is very sweet...vanilla bean, cocoa, cinnamon, malty, pitted fruit. Taste is super sweet too; vanilla, cocoa, wildflower honey, malt, spices. Very sweet.

This collaboration between Terrapin and Schmaltz has a very dark brown, slightly dark red, almost ruby-colored ale with a very dense, off-white head. It’s a really nice looking beer. I’ll give it that. The aroma is really nice and smells red, of deeply caramelized malts and alcohol with hints of cherries or some other concentrated, sweet pit fruit. A little nutty in the mouth, the flavor really works well in conjuction with the aroma. It has a soft, malty mouthfeel that’s a little dull and slightly thin for what I was expecting. I mean, with that much residual sweetness you’d expect a thicker body. The alcohol presence gives the beer a nice, subtle kick in the finish. Overall, it’s actually really awesome.

Pours a ruby-brown with a dense tan head. Cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla, coffee, prune juice, and raisin notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Finishes slightly sweet. Complex and intersting.

Tap at Freshcraft--felt pretty lucky to find a year old draft. Heavy dark clear brown with a thin foamy light tan head. The nose is deep and dark, with a bit of floral and herbal tobacco, earthy toffee, and a wee touch of molasses. The flavor has a sweet earthy tobacco flavor from the nose, with deep earthy toffee, molasses-like sweetness, a touch of sweet smoke, and a semi-sweet herbal malty finish.

22oz bottle pours a hazy brown with a thin tan head with a cinnamon spice aroma. Taste is the same with a bit of a vanilla and sweet chocolate.
