Stammwürze P12 alc Das untergärige Bier, hergestellt aus dunklem Malz, wodurch die typgerechte Farbe resultiert, hat eine sehr gute Schaumqualität. Der Geruch ist rein und malzaromatisch, der Geschmack vollmundig und angenehm malzaromatisch. Der Gesamtcharakter ist harmonisch und sehr gut abgerundet.

Bottle at World of Beer. Pours a clear dark amber color with a dense foamy beige head that fades rather quickly. Aroma has roasted caramel malt notes. Similar flavor with some additional spice notes. Not overly sweet like some dunkels.

It’s just a whole lot of nothing special. I like Americanized versions of German beers a lot better than authentic German beers. Maybe that’s because I’m an American? Funny, cause I’m actually a German-American.

Bottle from the brewery. Clear, mahogany brown colour. Quite dry with lots of roast flavours and caramel. Nice.

Cremig malziger Antrunk, bereits hier sehr röstig, leicht herb. Die Röstigkeit nimmt deutlich zu, dies wird im Mittelteil allerdings durch eine süße Note kompensiert. Die Würzigkeit steht hier klar im Hintergrund, das Malz bzw. die Röstigkeit, die sich nach und nach durchsetzen kann, dagegen im Vordergrund. Im Abgang erscheint das Malz komplexer, die Röstnote wird intensiver, das Bier wird durch die hinzukommende Bitternote sowie die sich steigernde Würzigkeit harmonischer. Diese Harmonie gefällt, besser als die Monotonie der Röstigeit im Mittelteil. Test vom 27.2.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,11,11,12,8,11 - 11,20

500 ml bottle. Pours dark red with an off-white, short lived head. Aroma is balanced between caramel malt and noble hops. Medium, smooth body. Grainy, caramelly, sweet malt is balanced on the palate by bitter, peppery hops. Long, dry, spicy finish. Nicely made dunkel.

Bottle at Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Bar & Grill in Las Vegas. The beer is a clear brownish-amber color with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Clingy partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of ripe fruit and malt. Medium, clean body with a fruity character and notes of caramel malt and a bit of hops. The finish is sweet malt and molasses. Just average overall.

Bottle. Dark cloudy red with off white fast dissipating head. Ringed lacing. Sweet malty aroma with date notes. Medium to full body with more candied fruit. Something slightly off in the finish, but overall a pleasant beer.

Ahh an abbey-brewed Munich Dunkel, I have high hopes. 500ml bottle. Pours a nice orange/reddish brown with a nice foamy off-white head that stays awhile leaving behind intricate lacing as it recedes. The smell is much bready and grainy than most. It has hints of rye bread, raisins, and dark sugar. It is not as sweet as most Munich Dunkels and I like it alot. It is also hoppier on the palate than most which is a nice change of pace. It retains a lot of the breadlike qualities of the smell. All in all there could be more flavor (sweetness) here but the low sweetness makes it incredibly drinkable. This would be a killer summer beer. Overall maybe an oddity for the style but a good one.
