Pours a dark ruby brown. Malty aroma. I had trouble putting the flavor into words, but it’s good. Sort of a rich roaster malt taste with some nuttiness. Decent palate. Really, it’s an enjoyable beer but it’s not spectacular. I gave my non-beer rating yet beer loving friend a sip and he said, "Damn that tastes German." He’s right.

Pours a mostly clear, deep mahogany with a creamy, khaki head that reduced quickly to film and wet lace. Oxidized vegetal and light vinegar aroma before roasted nuts and beef broth. Smooth but wet palate finds thin, milky chocolate malts amidst a roasted grain backdrop. Sweetness interjects, but there is a herbal bitterness to finish and linger. Not bad, but I’d hoped for something a little sweeter and fuller.

Dark ruby cloring with a very large light tan head. Aroma is surprisingly full with roasted peanuts and some potato chips. The slightest hint of apple. The taste is peanut butter with some blackberries. Not as sweet as those descriptions sound. Light in the mouthfeel. Nothing special, but not offensive.

Bottle (thanks to MoritzF): Dark amber coloured, beige, stable head; sweetish malty nose, distinctive traces of molasses, faint traces of coffee and caramel, mild bitterness; sweetish malty start, becoming dry towards the end; sweetish flavour; short, a bit tart and mild bitter finish with a metallic tinge; lacks a bit a fuller body and could be better rounded................

It’s just a whole lot of nothing special. I like Americanized versions of German beers a lot better than authentic German beers. Maybe that’s because I’m an American? Funny, cause I’m actually a German-American.

The aroma has chocolate malt with yeast and some hops. There is also a paper smell that seems to be present in so many central European beers. The appearance is brown and very clear with a decent head. The flavor is sweet with all the elements of the aroma present. The palate is light. There is a slight metallic taste in the finish but overall its not bad, just a little weak. This sort of reminds me of coco puffs.

Bottle from Tiffany’s in Kalamazoo, MI. Dark brown with red tint and medium, creamy beige head. Aroma is slightly sweet and red fruit with some grain, a little bit of stinkiness, some nuttiness. Flavor is medium sweet and minerally, red fruit, grain, bread and nuttiness. Medium to light body, slightly watery with chalkiness. No bad, a little off though.

Bottle. Pours a clear crimson ruby brown with a thin beige head. Cloying caramel right up front. Really sweet aromas. More caramel on the body, but a lot of emptiness and stale malt. A bit of cardboard and light bitterness on the finish.

dark honey color (almost amber) with a loose head. Sweet aroma with some molasses hints. Bold initial flavor but faded quickly with a weak molasses finish. Nice bite on the tongue, thin bodied. Somewhat bland, but I had a good time trying to identify the subtle flavors.

In the bottle at the Huber Haus. Roasted coffee aroma. Not a bad beer, but I’m afraid that mine may have been a little stale. Not much here.
