Pours a light amber with light white head. Smells of syrupy fruits and roasted malts. I have heard this beer compared tot a peanut butter, jelly, and banana sandwich. I can see the comparison. Definitely get that in the taste with some malts and a little chocolate, reminiscent of most dunkels I’ve had. Very good brew.

Good carmel nutty flavor and filled with malt. A little bit of bitterness but it is well balanced with the flavors in the beer. Some good earth flavor tells you it is a German beer. The finish tapers off quickly but is still very enjoyable.

Half liter bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours a clear chestnut color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of bakers chocolate, caramel, mild dark fruits. The taste is dark malts, dry raisin, chocolate, mild hops. Medium bodied, decent balance. Nice beer.

Bottled 0,50L. Dark brown color, good bubbly presence with a creamy head of long duration, realy elegant aspect. Typical braced cereals aroma, very equilibrate nose with rumors of wood and soil. Good crisp mouth, equilibrate bitter content with a pleasant alcoholic final.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2005 gleaming transparent ruby shine..thick, extremely tightly woven microscopic sud bubbles..caramelized nuts and sweetness shine in the aroma..subtle yes, but nicely nutty too...very light on the palate but yet still quite flavorful with caramel sweetness and piles of roasted nuts..very clean throughout with slight nutty sweetness carrying on into the aftertaste...not too shabby if maybe a little weak.

I thought this was a good dunkel, given it’s only my 2nd one, but it was tasty. Wheat, caramel (Like I always notice), honey, very easy drinking, and pleasant.

Clear color with a hint of orange when heisted to the heavens. Moderate foamy ecru head that seems to a smooth tight bubbled lid. Heavy vail of lace. Mild aroma of toasted bread and dry flower hops. Mild caramel and dark chocolate also invade the proboscis. Smooth lightly oily fell. Dry lightly nutty start followed by a touch of caramel and malt sweetness which is then swept away by a rather sharp herbal bitterness. The finish gets to sharp and distracts to much for my taste, but still better then many dunkels.

Clear, deep, amber. Medium, frothy, tan head. Nose of toasty malt, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and subtle, rotten banaba. Flavor of a peanut butter, jelly, and banana sandwich over toasty malt and some crisp hops near the end. Tasty. Medium/light, balanced body, easy drinking. Great dunkel.
