To be honest, completely was expecting Oktoberfest beer. This is a great helles bock, very nice smooth mouthfeel. The smell is a sweet apple, the taste is sweet malty cereal. Color is a clear amber, with great sticky white foamy head. 10 in its category. 9.33 BD

500ml from "Lifesource" in Salem Oregon. $2.99 ( on sale) Dark golden coloured beer with a gorgeous tight bubbled white head. Honeyish, biscuity aromas..pleasing to me.Slight grass and a touch of hazelnut. Taste is the same honeyish, soft, caramel, some nuts and a bit of ripe banana. OK mouthfeel could have afforded a bit more lively carbonation Overall though a nice soft beer for a cold windy night

mansquito (2569) - Nueva York, New York, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Whole Foods, Bowery 50cl ($5): Pours light amber with a creamy white head. Aroma is plastic, bubblegum, a hint of hop, and some vague fruitiness. Taste is slightly sweet. Body is medium. Alcohol is fortunately covered, which is more than I can say for many a heller bock. Old-fashioned. non-descript candy is the main flavor. This ain’t bad, but it is kind of boring. I don’t really feel like drinking the whole bottle.

Clear amber color with ivory sheen. Vegetal, raw shellfish, kelpie, plastic aromas. Light body. Caramel, plastic, oyster flavors with dark bread. Bitter industrial finish--not good

Bottle 50cl. Clear filtered copper-brown coloured brew with thick firm white foam. Wonderful slightly roasted malts combine with decent dry hops. Decent Alcoholic burning in the finish. Very good brew!

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2012 Purchased from Orterer Getränkemarkt in Garmisch-Partenkirchen 30.05.12 consumed at Hailes Abbey, Gloucestershire 16.06.12 Really nice beer. Some fruitiness snd toffee combining well, warming, malty and quite chewy. Not sure of colour as I am drinking this sat around a campfire with the rest of KBO morris, it is quite dark this evening now but in my glass it looks good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

28-Feb-12 (500-ml bottle)
This fairly standard German bock pours a hazy, amber body and half an inch of off-white head that settles to a wide ring. The nose is very malty, loaded with aromas of toasted bread, melanoidins, caramel, and earth, but also a touch of corn too. It’s a very malty beer in flavor too, with sweet, melanoidin-rich, caramely, and toasty malts complemented by a touch of earthiness. Medium to medium-full in body, with average carbonation and enough toasty and earthy dryness to keep the perceived sweetness levels in check. Overall, a nice, perhaps even above average German bock.

Bottle at a tasting. Orange pour with some tan head. Slight spice, some fruit esters, caramel and sugar, and some light nutty tones.
