worldbeertaste (1133) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2013 Deep dear red with a foamy lasting, beige, faint lacy head that changed to a thin lacing. Smells of deep toasted malt & caramel, nut, yeast, faint licorice and malt with a slight metal. Medium thin body with soft carbonation. Sweet taste of caramel that is subdued with yeast and then moves to a bitter liquorish, ash, coffee roast dry finish. The shift from sweet to bitter is rather sudden as the sweetness isn’t strong enough compared to the bitter finish.
