A Bold American Barleywine. As bitter and big as it can get. Hoppy, sticky, malty, red and strong, this beast will fill your blood with alpha acids. Definitely for the brave.

Bottle. A lightly hazy blood red (as stated on the label) body with a very small, lightly lacing, almost fully diminishing, off-white head. The aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruity, pine needles, spruce), with notes of red and dark fruits, alcohol, toffee and tropical fruits. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Almost full body, velvety/syrupy texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with moderate to heavy bitterness, moderately alcoholic. Superb in every aspect. except maybe the small and fading head (but the ruby red body is remarkanble). On the sweet side, but with a great final bitterness and the perfect booziness. Drinkable for its size. Another excellent RC beer.

Barleywine rosso sangue dalla luppolatura generosa, all’americana.

Tasted on tap @Ma Che, Roma, on 28/10/2012. Pours of very hazy dirty brownish color with a surprisingly proper off-white head. Aroma is quite faint, cant say much. Taste is rather intense, caramely sweet upfront, then coming usual barley wine flavours. Alcohol shows up in the end, with excessive bitterness, which both kind of ruins that beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

02/10/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Corpo pieno, buona carbonatazione. Barley Wine all’americana in versione estrema.
