Ebony. Small brown head. Aroma of dark malt, oak and cigar box. Wonderful taste and aftertaste of liquorice, cough medicine and hot and bitter sauna wood.

500 ml bottle, available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger in a very limited quantity. Produced in 2011 and matured a year. ABV is 14%. Bottle No. 685 out of 1650. Pitch black colour, low brown head. Intense and lovely aroma of dark malts, molasses, vanilla, chocolate and coffee, hints of fortified wine. Warming and oily mouthfeel, as expected. Very sweet and intensely malty flavour, with molasses and caramel galore, also plenty of chocolate and vanilla. Coffee and hops in the finish. Great now, but probably good for cellaring for another 20 years.

Wspaniały i sprawiający wrażenie autentycznie czekoladowego.

Opaque black color, small brown head. Inky, cold coffee, berries and liquer in the nose. Full-bodied. Very sweet with sweet licorice and vanilla. Coffee and milk chocolate. Straightforward and sweet. Sweetness covers alcohol.

50 cl bottle @ PBF 2013.
Pours dark brown, almost black color with a small beige head. Aroma of bilberries, roasted malts, some coffee notes, chocolate and cocoa. Flavor of sweet sugar, caramel, bilberries, some coffee and roasted malts. A bit sweet and boozy at the end. Not the best of imperial stouts.

Bottled. Black colour small brown head. Aroma is liuorice and some mild smoke and quite big coffee to it. Flavour is a huge coffee thing with some roasted and mild toffeeish notes. Also some nutty things.

500ml bottle @ PBF 2013 from 50belair. Thanks!

Bottle 930/1650 - Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, berries, alcohol, hints of syrup and coffee. Taste is grainy, strong and sticky with notes of roastiness, dark ripe berries, sugar, syrup, molasses. Finish is sweet, oily and sticky with notes of honey, vanilla and molasses. Not your typical imperial stout. Sweet, heavy and complex. A bit too sweet and sticky for my taste, could be a bit more balanced.

500 ml bottle @ PBF 2013.
Pours a black colour with a brown hue and a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, soy sauce, weak vegetable-like notes, spruce and bilberries. Flavour is rather rich with salty licorice, bilberries, cream, alcohol, bread and some biscuit and hay. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a salty, rich, creamy finish. Feels a bit like a doped Eastern Europe stout, sort of like Zywiec Porter on crack. Good.

50 cl bottle @ PBF VIII
Aroma has bilberries and soy sayce. Flavour has sugary notes, malt, honey and salty licorice. This has something in common with east European stouts & porters.
