Bottle courtesy of 50belair - Thanks for this Italian treat, next time bring me back some limoncello - Not a traditional stout but one of the best Imp Stouts I’ve had using Belgian yeast - min carbonation - blackish color with a slight brown hue - medium body - lots of dark fruits in the nose, which I found to be quite nice - more dark fruits with slight licorice taste and a dry backend - surprisingly at 14%, I got zero hotness, heat, booze. It was smooth and nice. - If Orval made an Imp Stout, this would be it. Solid Job, Revelation Cat!!!

Truly unique beer, and an amazing Imperial Stout. Tasting with a few buddies and each of us really picked up on a different taste/aroma in the beer, very complex. I got a nice licorice note in the flavor, which in this beer was very nice. The body was perfect, rich and full without being overly syrupy sweet. Overall, a world class Imperial Stout.

Bottle courtesy of 50Belair. This is an interesting imperial to be sure, and my kind of imperial stout at that. Nose is very fudgey with alot of caramel and raisin notes. Heavy and full viscous mouthfeel with a velvety texture. Flavor is quite sweet but not overpoweringly so. No real hint of the 14% abv. Well hidden. Presents strong fudge up front with alot of nutty caramel notes and a somewhat belgian like dark fruit character at the end. Quite unique honestly and one of the better imperial stouts I have had recently.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours midnight black with a small, fat bubbled, khaki head. Decent retention. The nose furnishes fudge, pouch tobacco, fruity jam, walnut shell, a splash of red wine and a touch of alcohol. Full-bodied and oily with only a trace carbonation. The chocolaty, fruity-jam flavor is plenty sweet and quite interesting. Lots of pleasant esters and phenols here. Finishes with dark fruit and a swirl of mocha. Amazingly, the relatively high alcohol content of this beer is not at all overbearing. Kudos to 50belair for sharing this world class bottle of brew!

Bottle. Aroma is roasty malt, liquorice, heksenhyl, quite sharp. Flavour is deep burned molasses, heksenhyl, liquorice, various dutch liquorice in this one. Weird but nice.

07/06/2012 Brasserie 4:20, 500ml bottle (thanks Alex!). Nerissima, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino, molto scura. Al naso intensissime note di vaniglia, cioccolato, note liquorose, di ciliegia, alcol. In bocca ha un attacco dolce, cioccolatoso, e un bel finale amaro caffettoso, leggermente astringente. Ricorda certe imperial stout americane estreme come concezione e gradazione alcolica. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione soft. Gran birra, dal potenziale enorme.

50 cl bottle, courtesy of Mortlach. Pours pitch black and with a small, dense and chocolate brown head. Dense vanilla, chocolate and dark toffee malty. Rich chocolate, dense malty, light alcohol and smooth dark chocolate. Rather dry and bitter. Light touch of overripe fruits. Dark chocolate and alcohol warming finish.

Pitch black, light brown head. Creamy, licorice, caramel, bit roasted. Dutch Tikkels candy. Really nice. Taste is quite special. Bay leave, kahlua, licorice. Quite sweet. Interesting and it suits me very well. Might not be for everyone, but I really, really like it! (Sample from 50cl bottle, thanks Menno!)

A pitch black colored beer, with a dark beige head. The aroma of roasted malt, vanilla. The taste of dark fruits, laurel with alcohol. The aftertaste is bitter, some sweet and burny.
