A massive Imperial Stout. The first IS brewed by Revelation Cat. Aged for nearly a year in steel tanks and fermented out to 14% Bottled in 2012 in limited quantity and released slowly throughout the following years. On the bottle: "Black Knight’s sure you’d love to know. But you’re just gonna have to find out ’Cause you’re not gonna get the recipe on the freakin’ bottle And beware of the 14% He’s gonna mess with you" "Keep it Cool and age this beer"

50cl bottle courtesy of Alex. It pours completely black and oily with a medium tan head. Good lasting foam and some alcohol lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is rich and indulgent, with dark chocolate and coffe notes, figs, tobacco, nuttiness and port wine. All you could want in an imperial stout. Taste is lightly roasty and bitter but mostly sweet and decadent, perfect for a dessert. Again, dark chocolate, fudge, figs and raisins. With some wood and port wine, which I truly love . Finishes with slightly bitter with toasted coffe beans. Full bodied with a silky oily texture and soft carbonation. The 14% ABV does not overpower the beer and a 50cl bottle split in 2 left both of us craving for more. World class.

This might be as close to perfection as it gets. Very inviting, mouthwatering aroma, with tar and liquorice. Full of bittersweet flavour, smoke, coffee, tobacco, molasses, warming alcohol. The agiong has probably smoothened out some edges here, you can still feel the 14%, but in a pleasant way. Wow. Giove us more like this.

Bottle. An opaque black beer, with a small, frothy, mostly diminishing brown head. The aroma is heavily malty (black chocolate, cocoa, molasses, roasted grain, coffee), with notes of licorice, vanilla, berries, plums, figs, alcohol, etc. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Full body, thick/sticky/creamy texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with light to moderate bitterness, moderately alcoholic. A huge beer... Immense nose, complex, intense, deep, etc. And it also looks great. Sweet, but it doesn’t get cloying, I finished the entire bottle myself. A little more bitterness would furtherly help it to become perfect. However perfection is near... Great job.

Bottle, generously shared by the man himself. Dark brown/black pour with a tan head. Enticing chocolate, caramel, and berry aromas?? Wow, this stout is fan-freakin-tastic. It’s absolutely delicious. Loads of chocolate, caramel, and smooth roasted malts, blend seamlessly with undercurrents of fig and berry jam. Are you kidding me, 14%?? So smooth. This is a real stunner. To put this in perspective earlier in the day we drank Marshall Zhukov, Barrel of Russians, and later in the evening Serpent Stout. I am shooting straight, when I tell you that this beer out-shined the competition. It is not only my favorite beer from Revelation Cat, but now one of my favorite imperial stouts. Nice big body, good carbonation, and fantastic balance. I just can’t say enough about it. Way to go Alex, this world class imperial stout rocks.....

Tasted with Eduardo (Faber) and Alex (owner of brasserie 4:20 and brewer of this fine beer at Ma Che Siete in Rome. This is an extremely tasty Stout, pours pitch black with a light espresso color head. This beer is on the sweet side, dark sweet berries or cherries with an extremely smooth finish which completely masks the 14% ABV. To top off the experience it is one of the coolest bottles i have seen. Glad i was able to bring one home to NY. Thanks guys!!

Wspaniały i sprawiający wrażenie autentycznie czekoladowego.

50 cl bottle, courtesy of Mortlach. Pours pitch black and with a small, dense and chocolate brown head. Dense vanilla, chocolate and dark toffee malty. Rich chocolate, dense malty, light alcohol and smooth dark chocolate. Rather dry and bitter. Light touch of overripe fruits. Dark chocolate and alcohol warming finish.

07/06/2012 Brasserie 4:20, 500ml bottle (thanks Alex!). Nerissima, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino, molto scura. Ricorda certe imperial stout americane estreme come concezione e gradazione alcolica. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione soft. Gran birra, dal potenziale enorme.
